The colours are the last of your worries, learn to draw, understand and construct anatomy, clothing, perspective and how to convey form first. I suggest you read the Loomis books and spend a lot more time doing life drawing. You could make the colours as pretty as you wish but they won't hide the faults of the actual drawing.
