Wow, that's awesome looking! You are very talented sir. How much time have you put into this piece so far? What did you use for his eyes? Glass? I've been wanting to play with sculpting for awhile an today I finally ordered a book on Amazon.

Hi and thanks! For skin texturing I use various sized paper embossers to stipple the skin then brush over with isolpropanol and repeat until I have the desirred effect.

Thanks. I'm not sure how long I have worked on him as I stop and start and can sometimes leave a month or two without working on a sculpture at all. The eyes are steel ball bearings. You should have ordered was some clay too so you can get the feel of pushing it round

Here's a nice closer pic that shows the skin texture quite nicely.

If you are talking about sculpey softener, then I would say that for one: it is far more expensive than isopropanol, and two: I would think sculpey would soak up the softener and it would remain soft, where as the alcohol evaporates pretty quickly.

I think he's very close to finished. Just like to work on the hair a bit more.

Amazing detail! How do you get a paper embosser (something like this http://www.embosser.com/) to create that beautiful skin detail?
