I think Im gonna go and buy that hampton book. Dang so many nice updates! I think the perspective studies are looking awesome! Especially thoose cylinders.

The chainbrush painting, really cool! you are improving faster and faster. keep doing thoose still lifes too btw. even if u hate the mugs now, u will master and love them later

StressCavity - thanks ..... i can try but i dont know if its going to be something "super duper awesome". but i will try

maths82 - thanks ..... im kinda proud of those "cyan coloured characters, done in a more graphic style"
at first i thought i cant do this but then i thought "meh whatever if they suck no one will ever see them, but JUST DO IT ALREADY" and whaddaya know they are very fun to do.

ninaren - i would defiantly say hampton's book is good...lol those are not really perspective studies but actually "FORM" flow and all that boring, but good, stuff.
    thanks
yea ..do you know "Anthony Jones" aka "Robot Pencil"? he's a sick artist he actually stressed alot over "get your freaking values nailed down" color is not as important as values are.
so i took his word and im gunna stress over getting my values straight. thanks

so a little lazy this time

Hey! Everytime I visit I see some frikking good development! Yes I do know who Robotpencil aka anthony jones is Really great artist and he have a great youtube channel. Grats for the bamboo one btw
Yes sometimes u just gotta say, screw this im doing it anyway Be proud of your very first selfportrait, nice to see ya
I think its really good, alot better than my selfportrait I did, I do see some things I still do and have done, its about edges and "blending". some areas could be abit sharper, it feels like some parts of the nose and lip and hands gets abit "lost" if you understand what I mean.. Hope u dont think Im being a dick for pointing out some things especially since its your first try on it. But faces and anatomy are so hard because there are so much form in it and muscles going on. But still very nice

The other value studies are looking great, I especially love thoose 2 in post 95.
Post 98 looks really cool too. So keep doing what u are doing and Matt Kohr from Ctrlpaint.com have some really nice free tutorials on blending form and value too. Sorry for the long post. Keep drawing keep kicking some ass! see ya and have a nice weekend!

    AeonPhoenix - thank you!!

ninaren - thanks .... oh you know him cool.. he has played a very important role in improving my color and value sense ive seen nearly all his 1 - 2 hrs livestreams he is awesome!!
thankyou.... and nice to see you too [wait i havent seen you....post your self portrait ]
yea i get what your saying at that time i was already i guess around one hour in so i was getting sloppy and was thinkg "damnit finish this already" lol thats y i did the hands in a hurry
lol ur not a dick if i could pay u i would coz to point out mistakes is a teachers job and they get paid for it. i just want thank you for talking out the time to critique my work so that i can improve myself. so THANK YOU :]

lol i know matt kohr from ctrl paint if you go to the first page in my SB [post 9 and 10] you will see practice of traditional still lifes and phone drawings and contour drawings that was from him i saw his beginners series and in each video he gives you homework to do. i wish he had more of those kind of video where he would say "okay so today ur homework is to do 5 of theses or 10 of those" its easier when sumone tells you to do something rather than thinking "damn man there is so much that i dont know" and getting confused what to practice.
oh and thanks for the suggestion! :]
i like long posts ..... and you have a nice week!! lol

so wow this was quite some break form CA [been having a bad week at work.........realized that ppl who i thought were my friends are not really my friends]

anyway i still have to practice more.... so i did [not gonna let anything come in my way]

its been quite some time since i did gestures so i thought id revisit them

so today i was free in office these were done there
i just simply opened up deviantart searched ARMS and drew these just from thumbnails [too much hassle to open images in new tabs besides is easier to just look at thumbs and draw....also it forces me to focus on form rather then details which i can barely see . so its a win win situation]
i cant believe that just 4 pages took me 2 hrs O.o [including a lil break]

Doesn't matter. You'll get faster as you learn. Everyone learns a little bit differently, so don't put too much thought into how much time it takes you to do X.

The legs and arms in the latest post looks really good, u are getting a good sense of form in my opinion on thoose limbs.
I do notice that you are improving alot on your faces, the ones u did digital with blue color, so gorgeous. I dont really have any paintovers to show you now Im sorry, but wow thank you SO much for your paintover, I just cant thank you enough!
Im gonna try to give you some feedback but first I gotta say how much I love your energy, keep at it and you will improve faster and faster

I do notice something with your faces, sometimes it looks like you have some problems with faces in perspective, or more the features, on the portrait with the girl with the beautiful blue earring I notice that some of her features are skewed. I came to think of a good video or a channel. ProKo http://www.youtube.com/user/ProkoTV?feature=watch
He have some good videos about features and heads in different angles.

The shirt looks good but it feels like its abit too dark, (the cloth study in black n white) The forms gets abit lost, but I can see the form of the cloth I just think u could take the values and push them more.

Yes I could see clearly it was a rock that u painted Good job!!! also the cliffrock looks good! However I suggest to knock off the texture brushes abit and save thoose for the very end. Maybe you did but I like the cliffrock more that is coming right after the blue portraits in digital. I do not say that I dont like the rock study with lots of texture I just think it gets abit too much and all that hard work with values gets abit pushed to the side.

Now I gotta get going, got a dentist meeting to fix a cavity >< stupid tooth ;P

U motivate me so much and I hope that I can motivate u too. Look at your first page and look at your journey. its great.
And speaking of matt kohr, now I see that must have forgot Sorry

Take care now and keep being awesome!

ninaren - thankyou ... and im glad you like them

yea i have problem when it comes to perspective ...have to practice alot more .....lol i know him "ProKo" im subscribed to his youtube channel... hes really good with drawing portraits i think i have to re watch his tuts...

ahh that Tshirt .......actually that Tshirt was "black" so a lot of the light was absorbed and only a little was able to get out thats why the values were much darker also the guy was standing on a road which was covered by trees from both sides..so there was less light....but i thought it looked cool so i did it anyway

ah ill keep that in mid about textures thanks!!

lol good luck....i had to go to a dentist last year for cavity ... stupid tooth indeed XD

thankyou its been delightful so far and i hope it goes the same way forward.... :]

    M.Calza - Thanks

Great studies, energy and variety. I really like Nightmares anomaly. You could work on the background and really push this piece. I'm impressed with your still life mugs / value studies. I think I need to do a few of these. Your progress is very apparent, well done.

Thats some juicy lips u did
I can already see improvement with this posts head and some of the ones u did in the preview posts already. The eye looks really cool, if I ever are in need of some artificial eyes, thoose are the ones I would want
Its great to see that you tackle the things u feel insecure about. in my opinion, I think that thoose legs looks sweeter and sweeter! I think u nailed the one in perspective that are taken from above. The brainfart is cool and I would love to see some more work on it if you feel like doing so Speaking about features, dont forget the ears (they are booring i know ><) I need to do them aswell
The confidence u have in your linework now is truly amazing and just continue on this path, great progress. Maybe you could do either in traditional or digital some form studys of an arm or a leg like the ones u do now? but focus more on value`? and again thanks for the nice feedback

M.Calza - thanks.... but i dont really know....i did heads past two days and they didn turn out any good!!

ninaren - thanks ... i dont know what it is ... i need to improve my linework more.... coz the heads i did past 2 days didnt turn out any good.
hey thats a good suggestion.....to practice arms and legs in value .....i'll try that out ... thanks :]
and thanks for your feedback too :]

did more head studies .....VERY UNSATISFIED with the results

Speed comes with time and practice, I think your leg drawings are awesome, I find heads a lot easier and arms/legs are such a pain for me, someday we will be able to do both equally good!

And tnx for stopping by my sb

hey man i browed quickly threw your sketchbook, there are allot of good shapes there and stuff, but i do think you need to study the proportions of the body a little better, it seems like you make the backspine of people too long in most cases.
