Darnit Njoo, why do you have to be such a badass? It's really great to have you back in the arena, I miss the good old days sometimes when we all fought tooth and nail, and ended up losing to you anyways. Excellent entry, and I was going to consider this for my final, but now I think I'm gonna have to go in and fine tune some stuff. Thanks again for making us all work harder. Nothing like a great big push from one of the old masters.

Damn Njoo and scourge blowing this C.O.W out of the water lol

Well I ditch the bug idea cause I couldn't think of another way to make it intimidating so I revamp the plaguespreader to a more serpent like creature

I think I still need to tweak a few things, but this is pretty much there.

Wow great work everyone! So far, I especially like the ones from Scorge, Njoo and Vyse!

Here's my progress, I'm having a hard time with all that fur around the torso. ^.^'

Also, it's strange how my drawing seems to always slightly change color after I save it in jpg from photoshop. It's not supposed to have that overall orange tint... Does anybody knows why?

@ Wiggers: Damn! it's been way too long man! Really is great to see you. How have you been? It's amazing to think of what that's going to turn into. I don't know if most of these guys know what you're capable of.

@Njoo: Well, looking back in the records there, it would appear that your first COW was October of 2006, and mine was in January of 2007, The Elf Eater. Man, for my first COW, I'll admit that could have gone a lot better. Looking at the list of winners, it's amazing to me the number of guys who have participated in this simple activity and are now the cream of the crop industry wide, including Mike C., Kekai, Bjorn Hurri, Jakkas. Damn, it's been a great ride so far. Thanks a lot for the compliments, and thanks for bringing TTMambo along. That guy's got some skills.

@TTMambo: Nice! Awesome Evangalion feel to it. Great to have you along for the ride this round. By all means, please come back when you can.

Welp, this is my final. I've run out of time and must continue on to other things. VegasMike, thanks for such an awesome topic my brother. And let me know what it's like to moderate this activity, as personally, I think it's difficult, and a pain in the ass. Great luck to all!
    See you in the finals.

Man, this has been such an active thread with very nice results, I wish I could have taken part to it sooner.

I couldn't finish in time for the many mouthed monster of minnesota and probably wont finish this one either, but anyway here is my contribution:

After fiddling around with some tigerish, insectoid and boarish shapes i settled for the gorilla-like one from the bottom rightcorner.
From there it has been an interesting experience for me as i resisted going with the first idea that came along in detailing it, and found that it offered much more opportunities than would have guessed otherwise.
I favour the ones from the upper left corner .. but will have to see, sci-fi or fantasy...

    WIP Grey scale

Hey COWies, you all make me proud!

I'll save my comments/crits for the voting round but I want to thank all of you who have participated! This is my first time hosting a round and you have made it a very rewarding experience. I hope you all have had fun and have learned something new!

I was inspired by scorge's mulligan so I decided to take one as well. I felt I had a responsibility as the moderator to push the design further. I scrapped the first monster for this guy...please let me know what it needs as I take it to final.

Just posting here too hoping some feedback, as in the FINALS thread there's no post focused on that.

Trying my best to finish in time. I have done a little pose study for the beast before going on to the ilustration, but I'm kinada having trouble with the falling hand and the fact that i like it more when it was raugh...

@ Caio Chagas - very nice detailing man, but i would tone of a bit the splotches at the corners so to get less distraction from details such as the mouth of the beasts

here's my current progress, dunno if I'll have time to finish before the deadline (unless there's an extension wink wink) would like to put this guy in an illustration as well instead of a boring side view like this, but we'll see. Atm I need to head out so we'll see if I give myself enough time to wip something up. btw that potato thing is supposed to be a vocal sac or something, think of something like a prairie chicken, cept a million times louder. Tusks look kinda awkward at this point as well.
