    Toil and labour

Hi forum. I've decided to create my own sketchbook thread here because I hope it will help me advance my drawing skill. I have no formal education in art and never attended an art school. I've been slowly learning over the years by reading books and watching video tutorials.

I am influenced by many things and people. To name a few; Industrial design, concept art, product design, typography, great master draughtsman of old like Albrecht Durer, Lucas Van Leyden, Pieter Bruegel the Elder and many more. I am influenced by Syd Mead, Scott Robertson and many science fiction artists like Jim Burns, Tim White, Keith Parkinson, Wayne Barlowe and Frank R. Paul, among others. I have many influences.

I think the main thing I lack is a mentor or someone to guide me and keep me on track. Self motivation is great but it's hard for me to keep up, I am lonely and don't have any art friends in real life that I can go to. I also have a hard time making a finished piece. So here I am.

My ambitions are high! Great master artists watch out! HERE I COME TO SURPASS YOU!

Without further adieu, here are my meager sketches. all in this post are drawn without any photo reference and drawn from my imagination. Apologize for the low quality webcam pictures. I plan on making scans for my other posts.

P.S. any suggested drawing exercises or critique are very much welcomed! Thanks.
