Ninetail Goddess
Design a human form for a mythical ninetails!!

DEADLINE: SUNDAY 17th June 8PM GMT+1 (9PM British Summer Time)
Check your timezone!

The ninetails is a mythical fox/wolf like creature with nine (or more) individual tails. We would like you to create a human form for this mythical creature. This creature goddess is a female character, but even in human form she needs to have fox/wolf like traits. She also needs to have at least nine tails - these can be actual tails or something that represents the tails.

The Guidelines:

• Must be female
• Needs at least nine "tails"
• Must have fox/wolf like traits

THE RULES
In addition to the brief, if you do not follow these rules, you will not be included in the poll.

• Files must be named: CHoW#292_Username 
(Files with any other names such as final.jpg or even chow292final.jpg will not be accepted)
• Finals must be posted in the finals thread BEFORE the deadline
• Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
• At least 3/4 of the focus character must be visible
• Final images must be accompanied with a basic character sheet in a separate image
 Character sheets should at the very least show a sketch of the front and back of the character and a couple of early thumbnails/silhouettes.
• Follow the brief!

Haha, If that is your only familiarity then, yes, essentially (His "sexy no-jutsu" makes him a her lol) But another idea would be Ahri from League of Legends.

There is nothing wrong with manga or anime, but I also prefer to see a personal style over the western anime style...unless its really awesome.

Also, don't dismiss this as an "anime" or "furry" idea. Read up on the original mythology of it. It's quite intriguing.

What's with all these anime references? I haven't watched Naruto ever so that might be something. My first idea with this topic was like northern pelt-clad goddess thingy

Barefoot: You're limiting yourself with the anime/furry/hentai thing. The only limits are female, fox/wolf-ish and some sort of 9 tails. Get creative and prove there are other ways to approach it.

I agree with Pixeltuner. Usually the first ideas which come to mind when taking on a challenge like this are the worse. Why not try doing some thumbnails and playing with some ideas before commiting to anything and have a crack at something original.
P.S I'm the worse for generic ideas, so i'm by no means judging anybody, it just would be awesome to see some cool concepts here, other and not 'hot anime chick' with 9 tails.

Just a little character sketch I did last night to develop a better idea of what/who I was visualizing in my head, I'm definitely going to elaborate on the outfit design in my final...I was thinking about maybe exaggerating the length of the legs a bit more...not sure, don't want it to look too...cheesy. I plan on having her in a very different pose for the final so I might do a few more sketches to get the correct anatomy from different POVs...

I don't think anyone was offended. We just trying to get you to explore the idea beyond the thought of anime. Everything you do in the future for a career wont be something you always like.

I did some reading up on the Japanese mythology of the Kitsune, which is the fox spirit. Each fox spirit is unique and it has multiple tails depending on its wisdom and deeds. The highest rank is 9 tails and is the wisest type of fox spirit. It was also mentioned that the fox spirits would possess women through the fingernails or the breasts. Since the fox's favorite food is rice and beans, the possessed women would eat a lot of those foods. The fox spirits were not aggressive but did like to play tricks on people for fun. The most powerful fox spirits would be able to go into a human form but only for a very short period of time, no more than a day, because it required an immense amount of energy to maintain a human form, it had to draw life force from surrounding plant life to maintain the form any longer, and would cause drought. The fox spirit was known to seduce men when possessing a woman or in their human form. There is a lot more info, but it might spark some ideas for people

I went ahead and made the human form of the fox, ready to dig in to her favorite meal. Her hair which is tied into 9 ponytails represents the fox tails. I also wanted to keep a some what seductive look to her as well to keep to the myth.

My computer is still being fixed, and i know i cant upload through the attachment manager, but i still plan on doing some sketches anyways, and would love to post them for fun or for critiques... So does anybody know if its possible to do this some way? Either through an outside image hosting site or thriugh here directly? Id love to know and would be highly appreciative of any answers!!
