    Red face Vixen's Trash - Vm~ - Karpado0dles

    Hey there,

for me it's time to do some art for become better...or not. .-.

Just a little information for you and other visitors:

I really like foxes and drawing them. My fav style of art is Manga and Comic. So I try to get a mix from both of them.

I also enjoy to draw humans and fantasy creatures.

I prefer to draw with the digital media, but I use pencils, colored pencils and other traditional tools, too.

    More will follow.

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my sketchbook, and welcome to CA! Your vixen image is very cool - I love the dark, eerie atmosphere you have going on. Keep posting! And btw you should add a link to this thread in your signature so other members can more easily find your work when they see your posts around the forums.

Another work, shows Ebby again. At this time she's scared about...something.
If you study the picture you will see the reason. it's behind there.

Hey welcome, always good to see new faces and sketchbooks on here look forward to seeing more of your work, and some of your pencils,

With shading, my take on it is I try and use it to describe something about form first then value and tone that way when i am making marks i always thinking about how I describing the surface, is it flat round ect, does it wrap to the right or left

i am far from an expert on any of this but thats just my little approach

look froward to seeing more welcome to the land of learning and improvement and artistic glory lol

Great, love the dense look and the texture of your colour, it gives some mystery to the work. As a critique, I love how the line fits with the painting style on the first image, but it does not convince me on the second one, can't explain why.

Of course. I try to make a book of my Story. It's called "The Psychbird". A story about a vixen and her shadow with founded a little bird. And a dog is there, too.

(Hard to explain this in english ^^')

Well, I don't know why but I hate this in the first picture ^^'. For me, the motive/background-thing shell be like in picture two. Really funny xD

So, its time for MORE art :>

First, I made a sheet of my vixen.

Then I make a "Redraw" or "Draw again"-thing just for fun.

    Artwork 2011

    Artwork now

Information about her: Yes, a foxgirl. Very old character which can transform to the "Kumiho" (ninetaled fox)

You see, I try to draw humans, but I failed all the time ^^'
My biggest prob is the eyes-nose-mouth-line. :> Just saying.

The character sheet for vixen looks nice, but perhaps you should add some shots from the front and behind as so far they are all in profile view, so it feels a tad repetitive.

Regarding your foxgirl, I have to say that in your redraw it looks like you're avoiding drawing hands. Hands are tough, but if you avoid them, they'll always be a weak spot for you. Find a reference, use a mirror, take a photo of yourself in the pose, etc, do some quick sketches on another sheet of paper of how you want the hand to appear in the drawing, then work it in when you have it figured out. You will learn so much from that process if you do it every time, and your drawings will be so much better for it.

Sorry, can you explain a little bit more what you want to say. I'm german and sometimes I don't know what some english people want to say, so a little bit more explanation will be very helpfull. Hope you understand that.

The images (or the codes) aren't correct. I can't see them.

Random, seemingly nonsensical posts with a broken image tend to be spam. You'll see 'em around the forums from time to time, before the moderators delete them. Just fyi

Hello. Very nice sketchbook. I can feel the emotion in your work, very expressive and rich. I like the first 2 images best, where you added a background and set the mood to the piece. Keep posting!

I enjoy your foxes, I'm a huge fan of cartoons in general
I definitely recommend adding some traditional studies to your routine, to keep growing. boring old perspective studies are especially helpful to cartoonists.

I also wanted to add some pointers about your gif - Currently it looks like your tail is pulsing, instead of wagging. I hope you find it useful for future animated ventures ^_^

    Happy sketching!

Perspective is one thing I must learn, too. I hope that this souns not ridiculous but I don't know HOW I can practise that... (Or I'm just to scared about practise the perspective).

Do you have any helpfull tutorials or tips? That would be very helpful :>

First, if it's no motion in my pictures, can it look like that:

(and yes, the nose of the tiger is too long .-.)

At my opinion, it's difficult to make your drawings moving, without make them bigger or taller and so on.

I saw the prob with the tail and want correct that. Very much thank you btw for your attechement. I'm sure that it will be very helpful :>

We all have that problem, you're not alone. I can't tell you how many times I've animated something and had to go back and fix that kind of thing >.< The easiest way is just to stand back from your work and try to look at objectively- anything that looks strange, measure it.
if your working with many drawings, always keep referring back to your initial design sheet- or, if you don't have one, your first frame in your animation.

as for perspective, there are lots of tutorials kicking around. Start by goggling one point perspective. It's the simplest kind.

I did a quick sketch of the basics. The simplest way is to think of the horizon line as your eye level. So if you were doing a bird's eye view, your horizon would be way above the roof tops. From a snails eye- your horizon would be at the base of the buildings.

Start with simple objects, like cubes and cylinders, and practice drawing them from different views.
You can rotate the boxes by sliding your vanishing point along the line.
As you get comfortable with simple shapes- start stacking them onto one another, or using different combinations of them.

Next google 2 point perspective, and repeat the process
When your drawing your personal work, always try to apply what your learning in your studies- and you'll see the progress for sure

your foxes are so cute If your character looks off you could try to look up some photo with someone in the same position and try to imitate that.

That's what I haven't done :/ I was really unsure about her position above all her arms, because it looks so unreal. I try to make it better but I failed at it DX.

Thank you for the tip, I will consider it in my next works.

This crab is a concept from a children's book illustration.

Another concept from another story have I here:

It's an illustration from the "Psychbird-Story". The motive was drawn witch acrylics. This is'nt my tool, but I try to give my best on it.

Then I tried another style, I was inspirated of a children's book:Hier kommen die Piraten

So, here come Captain Hook, Mister Smee, Bones and Sharky in that style:

This characters belongs to Disney (Junior)/ Jake and the Neverland Pirates
