@kingkostas thanks for the support man! lets both work our ass off!

hey guys leo here, dropping my stuff as usual, not that much of a dump this time around im trying to absorb as much as i can from what i see everyday and from my favourite movies and artists, this is getting more fun by the day, im still shy around my skills and feel alot of frustration when developing an idea (like the duck character hahaha i went for as much goofiness as possible let me know what you think please)

i want to try doing some rough story sketches maybe from ghibli films? i love the composiitons miyazaki uses and specially how the layouts are all planned, well back to the lab, i ll see ya next time draw alot and keep on having fun!

Frustration is a good sign, means that you're learning, try to enjoy it, the duck its cool, maybe you could try to make a series of animals/characters to accompany it, on the heads on the last page I think you could use some construction.

Hey man, nice updates on that duck. Clearly is goofy, with those wonky pupils and teeth. I like the one to the left of the hipster duck most. I also can side with you on frustration when it comes to idea's, for characters and design.I think it'll all come more smoothly with experience and further comfort in the actual drawing stages and the better you get. Nice to see you posting more, just keep with it.

Finally you started attending a life drawing class ! I'm so stoked for you. Those classes will help you tremendously, trust me. My one word opinion on the duck character: zany. You mentioned something about applying to art school. I guess we're on the same boat because I'm also applying in the near future as well. What are you applying to ?

P.S. You're not alone when it comes to adjusting to new paper. I freaking hate that as well. How thin is the paper ? Just remember that it's not the paper, it's the skills.

@mr calza hey thats a great idea, maybe a nihilist turtle? it would be fun to design
@I StrayI thanks i think so too!
@ozark hey man thanks for the support and yeah i know the paper isnt really affecting me all that much its just that its different haha but im getting used to it and its better this way cuz my notebooks can handle even more sheets now

ok duudes here i am with another update did some duck studies to bump my duck a few nodges and really understand how the beak works so i can draw it in every angle i might do other animals as someone suggested it looks like fun!

ALSO my life drawing session this week was AWESOME i doubled the ammount of drawings and felt more comfortable this time around, also tried a conte pencil for the first time ehehe i have death grip i know but my teach told me its fine to do bold lines when you are getting used to a new medium that i shouldnt worry of quality and focus on motion and balance anyway let me know what you thikn PLEASE it really helps see ya next time!

nice studies man ,try to keep the pages more clean though and your lines loose and long-you should try creating beautiful images even in your fundamental studies.
    keep drawing.

It sounds like you are really benefiting from the life drawing classes, I hope you continue to enjoy them. I agree with your teacher and GrayPersona, about thinking about motion and balance, and the loose and long lines. You mentioned that you've read Force before earlier in your SB, and it might be worth considering refreshing yourself on it before your next class, perhaps following with some quick little gesture drawings from photographs/TV (sports are a good source of interesting poses) to practice the ideas. Keep thinking about how the volumes are arranged in your figures as well, the hip box you are using is a great tool for it.

    Hey ionheartGFX !

Thanks for the advice about construction over my SB, I certainly need to do it more often, problem is that tight now my focus are more towards rendering (directly mass drawing or painting, few lines or no lines), I did use them though, when I sketch, and helps greatly.

About your drawings, I see you focus a lot over gestural drawing, great!, but try also more mechanical drawing, you might get some ideas out of it, I certainly learn quite a bit. Also try to start giving weight to your lines at some points! Maybe aiding yourself with a darker pencil for thicker lines. Also perspective might help you get the poses better in space. And try to do mass drawing/tone drawing with the pencil, that certainly teaches a lot of stuff. Good stuff, keep up working!.

@m.Calza hahaha sorry man a typo
@gray persona its gonna take me a while but i want to be able to make every single line i make a perfect and beautiful line
@clockodile thanks for the visit man! i will keep it in mind and yeah i might re read some chapters of the force book, in fact i might re read my entire ref library just for good measure, just the chapters i didnt fully understand

@herionz thanks man yes im trying to reside in the more mechanical subjects for now since ive dont alot of the figure and lets just say i havent used alot of straight construction and i think mechanical stuff like cars, buildings, planes and that stuff might fix that and bump my perspective as well

hi guys heres all ive done lately, im gonna try to do more still lifes i need to draw more...

thanks yemi! i appretiate the support.

hello my peeps, whelp im a slacker this week haha read alot and gamed alot xDD but didnt drew thaaat much, i did read alot about line weight and tone so i tried incorporating that to this weeks drawing lesson, i think this is some of my best stuff, i dont know if its the novelty but there are some bits and pieces that i found myself not really thinking to do them but feeling that they needed to be done, i cant explain it hahaha its not that its getting easier maybe im enjoying it more? i think i had lost that its good to take a break to remember how much you love what you do.

the figures were all timed some are 5 minutes some are 15 and the toned paper ones are 30 mins each

good studies dude,I like the woman who is crouching on a chair, has some real life to it.
I would suggest to complement these gestural drawings to do longer measuring based and shape copying based drawing.

Really good attempts with that conte pencil on your previous post. I particulalrly like the ones where you have used contour lines and the other one with the negative space is nice.

Those are some nice figure drawings!! Just one small suggestion about shading (Someone else told me about it and it works!) try shading all in one direction. (so same angle) Ideally it would be best to shade by its form, but when im not sure what the form is this method kinda helps. Cheers!

Wow man getting better & better, I could suggest experimenting with your life drawing(working inside to out side maybe or skeletal gestures?). I can't wait till I attend life drawing classes >_<, though I have to wait till at least june. Anyway, good luck and keep drawing!

Hey mate, I see that you’ve been busy lately and that you are working hard.
Your studies are looking gorgeous and you are improving. Keep on shifting the
bad toward good, and never forget to lock the garden and the cellar door. Full
moon and we are all cooked if we are not careful enough. The duck studies
showed the world how determined you are, and reflected the pureness of
your heart over the sand filled muddy water. Stay true and come post again.

A-HA! thought i was gone did you? nope im right here but just ehrmm stuff happened in my life, and while that happened i came to the sudden realization of how juvenile some of my art is, yet felt encouraged by how much journey i have left to enjoy.

i cant take pictures of all of it today so im gonna upload it tomorrow i hope to post weekly again but who knows what i do hope is to be more active again here in the forums, seeing how much i everyone improved its awesome!
