i have to say i really like this. the fundamental ingredients are working well!
the mechs look massive and loom nicely, the tiny figures in the foreground look approprietly puny and run convincingly.
now think about light direction, weather, reflections, surface materials.
this might help

yup thx for the crtique i was thikin of a rainy weather ....... n dude i am not able to see the image u posted in the end
looks cool so far, it kind of reminds me of the human mechs from this video. You should check it out for some inspiration as well.

I think tightening the perspective would help this a lot. Some walls in these ruins would surely be intact enough to show perspective.

thank u guys for ur crtiques heres a update .... i am not sure how to show prespective using walls i mean i might hav to change the whole layout or hmmm am not sure how i can do it lol ....
less texture brushing, more thinking of how light would hit the planar surfaces. also the perspective is all jacked up in those buildings.
Thank u for the crtique i had just observed prespective was all wrong and about the ground/ building texture it was hard to find refrences been working on it here s a updated 1
I agree this is looking cool. The robot in the distance kinda bothers me, if feels kinda squished in between the other two. One thing that might be cool is if you darkened everything up and used the big head lights on the mech as the main light source sweeping across the ground. Plus you could add more lights sweeping through the fog as if more walkers were roaming around.
Anyways ya, just a thought!
Cheers
some ideas. and perspective overlay.
@Logan lol funny story i was thinkin abt the same concept when i started drawin this but it got drifted away thx for reminding me
@ dog -faced thx for the overlay/prespective gonna try and make a few changes .... and how did u make those prespective lines ? plz do tel
below is a good perspective brush making technique. BUT you have to understand perspective laws in order to make them work effectively. I could have just done that with a ruler as the brush only speeds up the process. it doesn't do it for you. i would suggest buying the tutorial Carl Dobsky has up on TAD and by a book on it.

thx again for the book .... just a final submit before i go to sleep lol ..... took in the crtics n modified the work
Nice update man! Since its raining you could do some cool reflective puddles!
Push it a bit more, give us more story and some more scale.
Some foreground figures would do that. They could help direct our focus more and aid the visual flow through the picture. They would also be more interesting than a pile of rubble
Mind the horizontal structure in the middle of the picture, it's acting as a visual 'stop'.
Quick OP for you:

@ velocity thx mate![]()
Heres a update i dunno if this composition is workin .... wil be happy to know your thoughts .... lol only 1 man has no fear among them
Man, this has been a fun thread to watch. Even the initial thumbnail version on the main CC page was compelling, so you're doing something right. My thoughts:
-- For the figure firing back at the mechs, I think you could really push his pose to something with more tension...hunkered down a bit, not standing square to the oncoming peril. Also, my own personal taste has me suggesting a more formidable-looking weapon.
-- In a weird way, having the mechs firing at the men is taking something away for me, like it is more nightmarish if they are just plowing forward, these immense forms with motivations that might be more complex than simply shoot the humans.
For what its worth, I'm halfway through this $10 book on perspective, which I'm finding very helpful:
Perspective Made Easy
I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this...neat stuff!

DPFX thx man ya the guy seems kind of sluggishly shooting a huge mech with a mp5 lol ........ i really lov the spalshin of water when the bullets hit the ground ..... i get it when u said the mystery of the mechs marchin in had a better feel to the peice
I hope this is the final update before i start any crtique is very much appreciated
The dude with the bazooka probably needs to have his pose adjusted--if nothing else, bend his knees so the recoil doesn't knock him over. (I'm not expert, but I think most shoulder-fired missiles are fired from a kneeling position.) Find some reference. Also, right now he's aiming at some target out of the picture to the left. It would probably help if you turned him so he's actually aiming at one of the mechs.

this.
i know what you mean about the splashing from the bullet impacts adding energy, but i too prefer the way theyre looming overhead without firing (at this moment)

Also, no reason a guy running through a big puddle can't be kicking up a big splash...
