Hobitt's Sketchbook!!

Hello ive been lurking here for quite some time and i decided that its time to make sketchbook.
So about me im 17 years old i live in eastern europe (lithuania) but im russian
i started drawing 5 months ago and i love it for this whole time ive been drawing with pencils but soon ill buy a tablet because i want to try out a new medium im self taught and when i started out i though that deviantart will give me critiques and help me improve lol and recently i found this site and i see that people are giving constructive criticism and thats what ive been looking for!
Also i want to try to become a concept artist for video games but i need to work hard to try to reach this goal so i hope this community will help me out and i will improve! Ill try to update this everyday with some sketches atleast

Hi Hobbit! Another beginner here

From your deviantart profile and these sketches, I think you know what you're doing when shading the form, but you should study anatomy (it's what I'm doing right now).

If I were you, I would wait until I got better to get a tablet, since painting (be it digital or traditional) is based on good drawing skills. That's why I keep on drawing with a simple pencil, because the fundamentals are more important than either the medium or the color. Once you've mastered drawing with a pencil, painting should be relatively easier.

That's just my humble opinion, keep it up!!

BEHOLD!!! A LEMON! lol .Its my first life drawing because everything else was drawn with photo refs or from imagination did some other sketches but i feel they are not worth attention. And about the tablet i want to try to draw in color but im not abandoning traditional mediums no no no.

Sorry that i dont udpate daily but currently i need to wrap up some things before summer so i wont be able to update daily but i will try NOTE: most of these are quick sketches but i will try to draw a normal drawing in a few days
This is a quick drawing wanted to play around with values only + i cant really draw forest's so i will try to draw them once in a while:

Some mongolian i saw in a photo tried to draw him but i failed

Finnaly found a mistake i was doing with 2 point perspective my vanishing points were to close so i devided the paper from the sides any advice how can i place vanishing points so they would be far away from each other?

Hello im back i got my tablet and i love it but hard to learn, here are some of my works :







But nothing beats pencil and paper felt so good grabbing a A4 and a pencil and draw. About this picture i remembered from somewhere maybe it was warhammer 40k i don't remember, lances with rpg round in them and i continued this idea combining both old and new ,used a little bit of photo reference.

Soon summer will begin and i will be able to spend ALL of my time drawing but for now here some sketches didin't upload everything it would take me ages



About this one my friend saw my small sketch of some thing im not even sure what it was he liked it asked to make a avatar for him so i did also colored it in photoshop as he asked but ill just upload the original

Keep up the anatomy studies, and try some still lives. You learn lots from 'em, including construction and form, light, etc. Start simple, and don't give up, I'll be watching you.

On this one you can definitely see the improvement! You should practice more with references and live drawing. You're on a right path!

Another update i decided that it will be good to do gesture drawings so i sat in front of a mirror for 30 mins and did it, just an example and some from imagination

I think you may be trying to tackle too much at once. Try studying proportions first. You seem to have one of the loomis books. Study the manikin until you can draw it in your sleep. Then move on to another subject. Good luck to you.
