School takes away financial aid?

I hear a rumor that SCAD offers gigantic financial aids for the first year and will take them away later (regardless of your GPA). Is that really true? I got a $20,000/year scholarship for my academic and artistic merit. Will they seriously try to reduce my scholarship/financial aid later? - I'm also applying for financial aid.

Please help me. SCAD is my only hope. I got accepted to the University of Mississippi and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (graphic design major). Both give me scholarships and I only need to pay $5k per year. But I still consider SCAD as my top choice. I think that those universities are not as good as art schools (correct me if I'm wrong)

PS: Also got accepted to VCU but they gave me only $5k/year (tuition $23k) so it's impossible for me to attend VCU

The scholarship award should say if the scholarship is guaranteed for four years, and/or under what conditions they can take it away.

Artistic and academic scholarships from SCAD are renewed annually through the completion of a bachelor's degree (up to 225 hours) as long as you remain enrolled and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. You can find more information at www.scad.edu/scholarships.
