Balked at the first question. It isn't a forest. Sorry, it just isn't. Who is teaching this stuff?
    What would Caravaggio do?

Well, for what it's worth, I took the survey, but I fear my responses won't be very useful, because I had the same feeling as Jeff: if I weren't told it's a forest, I wouldn't have recognized it as one, and while I found most of the images pleasing, they didn't evoke any other response.

That was sort of my point about who is teaching this stuff? So far removed from anything remotely like "Game Development Graphics". This isn't the fault or a problem of the student, I want to make that clear, but it is just psycho-babble hogwash under the guise of trying to make some kind of analysis of video games, likely by someone (a teacher) with zero experience in the industry.

All the "soft" sciences have long suffered from terrible physics envy, thus they are constantly trying to do this sort of thing, usually at the expense of tax payers. The irony is that the more they try to be like physics, the less like it they become (while they were actually perfectly respectable to begin with and the envy was unnecessary). But they are often pretty good at pretending to have succeeded, at least to the point where some government official will be convinced and will allocate yet more grant money for "research" in visio-psychology or historical genderonomics or raciographical socio-economics. :-)

This study aims to find out whether different geometrical shapes in a fantasy forest can make it seem more or less threatening..
Okay, it's one thing to put or invoke the look of geometric shapes in a forest, and another to actually MAKE the forest out of geometric shapes.

Whatever I had to say about the images, I put it in the survey... But hey seriously, consult your teacher, and if the teacher thinks you follow the purpose of the assignment I'd really consider either changing school, line, or go work at the supermarket cashier!
-At least in that way you'll protect yourself from harmful brainwash!

...Unless of course you were told something we don't know regarding the purpose of this?
And how do your other assignments look like!?

Now go take a look at minecraft!
