Very nice stuff, and I especially like that navigation panel.
kudos
Hehe, I remember the first time I picked up Alchemy... I thought the exact same thing, but when I watched Android Jones' demo with it... brought everything to the next level.
Ahh, that's the vid on their site. I totally forgot about itGoing to watch it right now, thanks!!
I will watch some timelapses of people creating paintings out of the shapes they got from Alchemy. I got to try that out too!!![]()

Wow, got some sick stuff on here!
I really appreciate your comment on my thread, so long and detailed! I'll definitely try to focus more on the points you mentioned. thanks!
I would try to give you some advice as well but don't really know enough yet! maybe i'll return when i know what I'm talking about
Anyway, love your work and keep it up, I'll be watching![]()
hey there!
thank you very much for stopping by my sketchbook
i like the way you're using colours (love the wip) and especially the painting of the robot-girl and this one : http://attachments.conceptart.org/fo...1&d=1333739786 (which has got a pretty cool mood)
(also nice to meet another guy from germany)
good stuff you got here, keep on!
i'll have a look on your sb![]()

Nice sketchbook mate, good progress going on.
On your last piece I would recommend you a few things:
Try to make linework a bit cleaner, less short shaky lines and instead long flowing ones will give it a much nicer appearance. I dont know if you own a tablet, but If you dont it makes a HUGE diference
Also when shading dont inmmediatly associate white = light, black=shadow. Study real life or photos and see how shadows and light are not pure white/black, see how a blue fabric would have deep dark blue shadows, a paler maybe less saturated highligts...
I have 0 knowledge on manga, but If its the style you like, study from Manga "masters" and see how they handle color and shading.
nice work and Keep it up!!

Great work going on here. Good studies. I love the forest piece, you did a great job. And I dig the control panel thing in the first post as well.
Thanks a lot for stopping by my poor SB
What an organised SB..<<my weak point T^T
I really love the forest and the pixel landscape~
Keep practicing and posting!
@Prototypt':
hehe, vacations rule dude
and well i guess i need to start doing some photostudies, too.
waiting for new stuff
rock on![]()
->Sketchbook<-
Yup now that Im checking it on my laptop I can see its not completely black but a dark blue
The important thing is that you are conscious of what you need to improve, so if you keep working you will constantly do better and better things! will keep an eye out on your sketchbook to make sure you do!
Also pass through here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...73830&page=124
Its master study week!!

Hey man, thanks for stopping by my SB. I am loving your stuff. The color and tone all look great and that quick study of the eagle is superb. I'm envious
Keep up the great work!
leider nurnoch bis ende dieser woche D:
hey would be nice to see that
ou and i like the shape you got there
i admire people who are able to draw guns and robots and such
especially since i'm pretty sure to be completely unable to do them myself
->Sketchbook<-
I understand what oyu mean, I am self teaching myself too, I was last semester at arts school but had to drop out in part because of what you say, I was there to improve my technique and fundamentals, not to learn how to express my feelings with a lemon
The best way I have found to improve is see how other people are studying (aka Crimson Daggers) and doing it over and over again. A really good artist around here told me that the only way to improve is practice every day, each time try to see what you did wrong on the past study and try to correct it. Obviously first times will be shit, but then without you even noticing things will start to look amazing.
The Crimson Daggers is a study group, we work together to achieve our goals, and learning from each other is an amazing resource. Keep an eye out on the thread or facebook because people do streams daily, and multiple times too. Dave Rapoza and Daniel Warren (our "leaders") organize challenges for us to study and test out habilities.

If youre willing to study and work hard consider yourself a dagger too!
If you need anything I can bee reached at Skype: alvilval.
Keep it up!!

Very cool digital work I like that Raven picture the best.
Hey~^^
And I'll watch yours~I will watch all your future posts in your SB
I had one before, I consider myself work just fine with it~but it broke=.="Hope you get along with your tablet fast, so you can do even more impressive stuff!!
You're rightmight be better to think I'm not good yet than just settle down and don't get forward now. I will try to hold my promise to post something everyday. I have a lot of time at night![]()
Now that's a good gun shape over there~
And about laziness, I'm a pro! X'D<<pathetic
An advise: don't waste no more time, or else you'll be cursing time for the rest of your life O^O<<or maybe that's just me..
All right then.I'll come back on the next update.

You're right, it's all about the start.I get into the mood once I do.
Sparta, now the second and third drawings are gorgeous. They got the action and intensity.
Yes you need to work on your anatomy drawing skill and lines flow.
I suggest you draw gestures, that would be from posemaniac.com
I don't know if you know it already, but anyway it'll help you in both capturing the form flow and action, as it'll help making your lines more flowing since you don't lift your hand off the paper.
Another site I use as a refrence is shutterstock.com, you can find great dynamic poses here.Try for example searching "modern style dancer".I found really handy poses.
And lastly, some really useful stocks I found on DA. Here.
I hope it helped.
Traditional art sure is a good practice, and good luck on your tablet![]()

Cool!!! Thanks you very much for the links!! Especially Shutterstock looks so GREAT!! posemaniac will be good for studies. thanks a lot!!
Oh and the DA site: I knew one of these tips/tutorials image, nice to see the others now too!!!
Today I'll draw some coloured stuff again. Digitally, because I don't have colours for traditional![]()
Really good one! The mood is very good
I really like your last post!
Wow!This one's your best painting-till now-
Keep up the good work, it's a huge improvement this time!
Oh and about the other version, can't wait to see it![]()
WOW! That went from a relaxing to grim REEEAAAAL quick! Good job!
I really like it~~
You know, I was about to ask you what's that thing in the bottom left XD
It needs more highlight don't you think? Now that I think about it, the kids need highlights surround their shapes.
True.I'll keep that in mind~I thought about adding some more, like vehicels in the background or blood running down the head of the jumping kid, but I thought that would be too much and make it look unrealistic.
YeahThe smoke and the particles of the explosion in the background isn't too good.you should've used a reference.
Anyway, it's a great mood switch here~
Keep up the good work!![]()
Last one is goergeous! keep on going mate, you're on the right way!
A colour study:
I tried a new blending "method". The colour blending at the top was just blended from one, to the other colour. For the blending at the bottom I used a higher saturated colour in the middle. This makes it look more colourfull overall. I'm sure I will need this one day, and also try out in my next painting.
maybe I will do some sketches for a new painting tonight, if not just some more studies.
Good study~
Though the first method doesn't provide good contrast but it might come in handy.
The second is totally gorgeous.
Keep studying and posting~![]()
uh, I think you missunderstood something ^^ the first one is like i allways did: I just blended from one colour to the other, in the mid there is the mixture of the two colours i want to blend.
The new method is the one at the bottom. That's the one I want to use more often from now on, because it just looks much more fantastic
for sad pictures the top is maybe the better choice, but I will ahve to do some tests on that
Also I found two very good sites:
-http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/509160 (this one tutorial about lineart, I'm not sure what the site is for normally)
I will carefully read all the tips and ideas that are mentioned, in the first link I love the study-part.
Heylove the blending study!! Definitely going to need to try that, think it could really help. Is the original method what people mean when they say the painting looks 'muddy'. I can see that making sense now
I look forward to seeing the futuristic citykeep it up
I am working on three projects right now, so it's hard to find time for studys. I could post some progress of my city, i set up the light and shadows.
Great seeing those studies coming!
nice one on the blending one, I am one of those who suffers from "muddy" colors so gonna try this on my next thing.
Also the city is looking great so far, the only thing that looks a bit weird to me is that square at the far right, I think the top line is exactly at horizon level so it may look better being a straight line, but Im not really sure what it is yet so whateve
Also check this out for epic straight lines If you havent already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UL...psNmdwM#t=454s
