I've been in school every day this week despite the fact that it's the easter hols, I've nothing against lessons out of school hours, but for some reason, being with other people has pissed me off this week. Although today my family left for the weekend and now I can just draw in peace, *Relaxed 'ahhhhh'*
'hell is other people', have you guys had any encounters recently that make you agree with that?

The series is a slow burner, you have to give it 3 or 4 episodes and then you're all like "But I neeeeed to know what happens next...gaaar!" also Tyrion becomes more prominent and who doesn't love Peter Dinklage

No, you sound like a whiny person. Hell is not other people. Other people and socializing allows you to enjoy yourself, others, activities, and also reap the benefits of friendships such as helping you get a job, discount, etc.

All at the terribly high price of being recommended a great show.

Although Breaking Bad is even better! I love that.

whining implies that I think other people care, I was trying to make a thread that amounts to a mass groan when someone winks and fires finger guns at you.

At the risk of being called whiny for a third time, I feel I need to defend myself a little.
I was merely expressing my exasperation at having to spend a long time with people who got all their jokes off the programme we both watched the night before. If narrowing it down into a couple of things someone might have found amusing came off as whiny, then my bad, can we move on without trying to teach me a life lesson?

This reminds me of a twighlightzone rerun I saw the other night. This guy hated people so much that he used his powers of concentration to make them go away, but then he was bored. So next he replaced the entire world's population with poeple just like him... that was even worse. It ended with him putting everything back the way it was and changing his negative additude. Moral: Nobody likes whining... not even whiners.

Barefoot: Personally I have to agree with you on a few points.
    1. I never feel awkward in prolonged silence... in fact I find them amusing.
    2. I don't really respect people who can't think their own thoughts.
    3. No interest in watching Game of Thrones. I read the books and George R.R. Martin is a bit of a pervert.

Who cares if you use a bike or not, the point is if you do, ride where your supposed to. Not in the road. If there's zero shoulder it's understandable but if there's a shoulder or ironically even a sidewalk there's really no excuse.

I think there are many other more important things people need to stop doing before they stop doing any of those.

Enjoy your alone time, though. Have fun doing the things you like to do and just relax.
So, it has come to this.

JFierce: actually, in many countries, biking on the sidewalk's against the law. And, where there are no special bike lanes, the road's our only option. Dunno how things are where you are though.

Also, as an avid cyclist myself, when on the road, it is much safer for us to be dicks on the middle of the road, rather than huddling ourself on the side of the lane. Less risk of cars accidentally clipping us in our sides, which there have been many a death from actually (bikers losing control, falling into traic, next car runs over biker).

By staying in the middle, cars will pass us like other cars, instead of trying to squeeze narrowly between. Not everyone's a masterful driver y'know.

And often, even though it is healthy, fun, and a great way to start and end the workday, biking's not the transportation of choice, but rather, what the monthly budget allows.

Just sayin, so you realize, we're not riding our bikes disturbing the traffic with a giant trollface going " u mad bro?"

    But, most importantly:

Life's too short to get bothered by the little things, so quit yer whining, Barefoot.

If your most serious problem is that people are talking about a TV show a lot, well, I'd like your life.

Cyclists have the right to the road in the US, Canada, and a bunch of other countries by international treaty. Unless they're riding on the freeway, they're supposed to be there. Not on the sidewalk.

And yeah, there's asshole cyclists but I haven't encountered nearly as many as asshole drivers.

    It is.

I've been waiting for about a decade to see it.

Initial thoughts "Unfilmable, simply too big."
Show announced "Well, it's hbo, it might be not horrible..."
Cast announced "Cautious optimism, they're clearly not trying to cheapskate this.."
Show starts "inward chanting of please don't suck please don't suck"

Watched first season, a similar combination of relief and happiness as when Peter Jacksons first Lord of the Rings movie was not a terribly animated 70s cartoon..

Hey OP, watch Game of Thrones.

Possible spoilers, Game of Thrones as a 90s rpg.

Bicyclists can have the road all they want, but if they're going to use the road, why can't they follow traffic rules? Like, y'know, stopping for red lights and not zooming the wrong way down one way streets and generally not running over pedestrians... I don't know how many bikes have nearly hit me while I'm crossing the street. One DID slam into me once, but I was carrying a giant portfolio, so it was the portfolio that got injured...

I only have the vaguest idea of what the hell "Game of thrones" is, and the few brain cells I have left keep telling me not to worry about it.

Game of Thrones as an RPG: No matter how you play, you die horribly in the end!

That would be kind of awesome...
