Thanks a lot albino-Z! I actually tryied to had in mind and achieve those things, but for some reason i can´t properly evaluate the different values to create depth. Is great to hear it from others (from you in this case), because now i´m certain that there is an issue with the depth. I´ll try harder to achieve it in this one but more important is an advice that will work great for future attempts.
    Great feedback so far!

    Thanks guys.

    Cheers.

Heres my final, I really don't feel like working on it anymore. It's basically as it was on the last stage.

developed my first thumbnail: put in a ship, he's shopping for planet embryos .

was flicking through imagine fx and saw some awesome stuff from Arthur Hass i think it rubbed off on me ships flying through organic enviornments.

Hi, i worked a little based in the advices, i won´t push it further because i already learned some things wich is the goal at this point.I think it has more depth now if nothing else, but it is a little far of what i had in mind....maybe the next time.

    Cheers.

This was bad but I thought I can only learn from a crit, I did this to try and gain some experience and hopefully get some crits so I can know what to improve on next time.

Thank you for sharing your piece. You have some of the fundamentals down- I see you have used aerial perspective on the background. If I could pick two or three basic things you should focus on, that would be color variation and value transitions. Try varying your colors, instead of using one colorpick for a whole object. Colors in nature bleed into each-other due to reflected light, resulting in gradients and variety. Values! Value is the way we perceive form. Try having a black layer on Saturation mode (if you use photoshop) and turn it on from time to time to see how your forms read. A trunk is a cylinder and there must be some shadows, highlights and perspective distortion of texture to support this.

In terms of composition, I would say the piece is relatively balanced, close to the rule of thirds. Try not placing things on your canvas border like you have done with those flowers(?) on the lower left. They seem like they are stemming from your canvas border. That goes for the cloud on the left and the tree branches on top, struggling to be included as a whole in the picture. Don't be afraid to let things go out of the picture!

I hope this helped... Keep it up! (the only way to improve)

Thank you for the crit and I will make sure that I try to use a better variety of colours and values.
