you've been busy Lots of interesting stuff here.

In terms of advice, I suggest you try to bring your architectural/hard edge stuff and your organic stuff closer together. When drawing hands and those shoes for instance you use round shapes only, I do this too just to roughly position masses. Once you have your general mass try to tighten it up, introduce hard edged lines, round forms don't show plane changes well and that's what I think you need, to clearly identify major planes in your organic designs. Look up some hand designs like hogarth does them, he constantly identifies those planes/angles. Reminds me I have to do some Hogarth hands, I'm dealing with the same problems

Thanks for the comments, sir, always appreciated. And wowza, good stuff going on here. A lot of creativity coming out of you, which is great, since that's definitely what will drive you to continue to draw and design. I'd just +1 what Seth said. Anytime you draw something, you want to understand that objects planes and construction inside and out, so as to make it as solid as possible (in a 3D sense). If you'd like, I've been inviting people to study perspective with a few other people on here (and anyone else who'd like to join is welcome). It's new, but we'll be posting lots of tuts/renderings/construction exercises and puzzles to study to help us all get better, so check it out if you'd like. Either way, keep up the good work on here.

The recent IDW challenge and some thumbs for new idw exteriors only interiors coming...

Really happy with the results, even tho it was rushed the rendering i was happy with how it turned out, next time i need to find a more interesting silhouette.

New one and i got some big ideas for this.

Some great stuff, but I'd really suggest looking at that face construction--maybe do more studies from loomis. One site I like to use to study diverse faces is lookatthisbabe.tumblr.com Good luck, keep up the hard work!

Good job with all the studies m8! I honestly think you can do better with the head studies, perhaps you maybe over-complicating things? Try to draw heads in the method Hampton describes which is practically basic geometric construction. Once you get the hang of that, drawing heads with correct proportions and construction then perhaps move on to the anatomy. I also feel that practicing the concept of squash and stretch will help with your study of muscle contractions to create certain expressions. Good job so far and I really love the variety of subject matter you choose to tackle and I can really see that with your designs. Your last two IDs were pretty sick! keep it going !

When you do heads, watch your proportions, your facial features are a little out of whack with each other. And I agree with Kami -- keep it simple. You need to know how to crawl before you can walk.

You're putting a lot of work in, keep it up!

Woo alex bringing in that line quality with those head studies. Some of the faces are distorted (esp the ones facing left) but this is a major improvement in facial proportions :00

those lineeess! nice job alex ! wanna see you bring it to another level! It also might help to draw more than just the head when you do face studies. Sometimes when when I just concentrate on parts of the body my drawings get misproportioned when I draw a full figure :< It's something I recently realized. Hope it helps !

Keep an eye on those facial proportions. The features are really well done, though, it's just the proportions that make it look odd.

    Alex!!!!!
    where did you disappear to?
    didn't see you in a while! D:
    awesome silhouettes as always!
love those studies (especially the helmet ones)
    the IDW looks great D:
maybe more anatomy studies? would be easier if you treat the head as a 3D shape like your helmet study.
    more!! > : )
