    Post Jablar fist online sketchbook

    Hi,
I´m not a professional designer or graphic or so... I just like drawing and painting and all around this...
It´s almost 1 year I´ve bought my first book about drawing and started to draw. Now I´m learning to work also with tablet...
    Will see...
Look at my staff, check for a progress and let me know your comments and tips... thanks a lot
New staff on the last page

    So, enjoy my sketchbook

Usualy I draw just faces or bodyparts, this is my very first try to draw some environment. I was just palying with colours, light and shapes, it was done in very low resolution, but I think it´s not so bad for the first time... ?

Hey man, you got a nice feel to your stuff, as some feedback on your work try to keep the light and shadow more clearer, so it doesn't look muddy, also not so much black, use it for where places where light really can't get and then sparingly imho, otherwise ROCK! =) Cheers man =)

Thanks for tips, you are right, the black colour sucks, I have to use it more carefully.

And here is my last digital painting training picture...
I'm still fighting with colours and I know, the details are horrible...

    Hi jablar!
I like how your forest enviros have a sort of "mystical" feel to them.

I think for that last portrait...the shading on her face is sort of uniform on both sides, and suggests that the light source is right in front of her...but the shadow on her neck suggests the light's from (our) right. It's not bad though. I have difficulty making the eyes look that symmetrical.

    And it´s just a sketch

The last piece is nice. I like the sepia tone.
I think her right hand might look a bit wonky though...

    Hi, jablar

I like the environments, esp the bottom right one. The light in it is very atmospheric. Personally for me the environments are the most difficult thing to do, so I was amazed to read it was your first try.

Are you from Brno - the home town of Milan Kundera? =) pretty cool.

    Thanks, maybe you are right...

    Sasha:
I was afraid of it, but it needs just a good reference picture and some experience
I would like to create and post more of them soon (I hope)
and yep, I live in Brno, pretty cool...

    Picture created this evening...
    inspired by this picture http://reine-haru.deviantart.com/art...tock-268905936
Maybe I will try to add some more details in near future, because I realy like it
It took me 2 hours ish, using just black and white is much easier than colours for me, I have to find out some way which will work for me... need to practice more, for sure...
And still don´t know how to better integrate the face into the background... some tips ?

Hey man, looking cool, would maybe suggest to move her ear up, normally it lines up with the top of the eyes and bottom of the nose, tilt your head sideways to check =) Cheers =)

Nice portraits, and I really like the forest environment. I agree withKungfoowiz on the last portrait's ear position though, but other than that, nice SB

Great work so far! I really enjoy the portraits and I can see that landscapes is out of your comfort zone. I commend you for trying them. They're looking great so far. Just a personal preference but might I suggest a harder brush when doing portraits it looks a little fuzzy. But you've really done well with the proportions on the portraits.

Keep up the practice! It's a great start!

    nice studies so far, jablar
it's indeed all about the training but your result wasn't horrible at all!
also don't hesitate to use more layers..its not about the layers, they are very helpful to remove mistakes and start again without destroying the whole work.

here are some poses according Loomis. I found this is not so easy how it looks.
Several times I was wondering how to more simplifie this, but errr it´s already so f*cking simple...

I was also doing those mannikins from Loomis a while ago, and yeah, they're harder than they look (at least for me) ><.
Nice job with the last study.

By the way, I don't know if you already do, but it's really helpful to always use the "alt" button for the eyedropper tool. It helps you blend faster.

It´s a long time without an update, that´s because I´m mostly learning from Loomis book.
    So just few scans...
