I know what thats like. I used to spend all my time playing skyrim too, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
...and I like your use of colour in your self portrait, It looks super cool.
@stgodd- oh, you XD
and thank you
My ma laughed so hard when she saw me sketching this. At least I made her day, right? I don't blame her. The way he's slumped over that horse is comical. I used warm colors for a grim subject- bad idea lol. And I don't know how to vary values with watercolors when using the same color :/
pretty much symbolism of Miike Snow's song "A Horse is not a Home"
Really nice effort going in here. Just keep it coming.

Hey!
Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook.
I would just suggest you to pick up some anatomy books and study them.
Beside of that try to do some still lifes.
Definitely take your time to get the proportions of the still life right.
Right now you need to observe a lot to get better.

PUPPIES!!!! I really love your use of colours. Your style is super interesting to look! I'm particularly fond of your self-portrait because the lines are loose but it works really well. That, and the colours in it are fantastic =D I agree with the previous poster that your anatomy stuff can use some work, but you'll get there soon enough if you're practicing at the rate of which you're posting =) I'll be checking up on you!
same with the comments above me, you should really work on your anatomy. it is going to be the basis of everything. like the skeleton that holds everything together.
you have a great sense of color though. glad to see other freshmans here too. c:
Thanks guys, I need to pounce on some Andrew Loomis studies again. I kinda abandoned that, whoops XD
I suppose I should not be too meticulous. It seems that whenever I approach a drawing with a carefree mindset, everything just works out nicely, like the self portrait. Yeah, I should do that more often!
Anyways, trying to get back into digital painting. I like the top half of the apple, but the bottom half just blew my mind, so I'm like, BAH, FORGET ITSo many mid-tones, man o.o
Mid-tones are tricky @_@ I don't know how to explain this, but I do see a bit more blue in the apple photo, especially in the top half. It's coming along well, though. The lighting on the apple and the leaf are great
You've got a great knack for colour, they're super good. Studies are coming along, just got to keep doing 'em!
@aaureolee- Now that you mention it, the apple would've looked better if I mixed a light blue with a bit of light green. I'm not gonna lie- I broke the sacred rule of coloring and used a little bit of white. XD Tricky stuff, man
@Liz Edwards- thank you! c:
and now for some skelly-telly-tons and some other random things
Self portrait in which I kinda had to make up the lighting because I marked some of the spots where the shadows would be, but then I got interrupted, and the sun scooted on over when I got back to it
and my eyes are squished together here lol

Keep up the life drawing it will pay off in the future!
Also with perspective something I'm trying is to do a one point perspective drawing every morning to help develop a natural sense on perspective!
I'm reading up on a book that is sooooo long that must be read by the 20th of next month
so I will be doodling more than usual
OH ALSO I have a-different-face-every-time syndrome. That's why I rarely create characters because they always look different each time I draw them, as you can see on the last image.
Looks like I've been finding my own style. (: I used to be heavily influenced by my favorite artists and marked places on the faced that they do without knowing why. Also, pigs.
Stuff that I neglected to upload from 2 weeks ago
Sketch for a watercolor painting assignment. We have to make up a product.
Entry to an art contest. More people are getting recognition, so I just might have a fighting chance :o I call it "A Slave to Money". My art teacher smiled lol. Not like I'm into economics or politics or anything.

Apparently, I'm thirteen years old again??? This is exactly how I used to color. Unsaturated, washed out, just plain blah
At least I tried to use the grey scale method.
I actually like my anatomy studies better than anything that I call "finished"
the faster I churn all this poo out, the better, righhhht?

you're on the right track! great studies.
nice studies and great consistency. Try and focus on distances between each "object" to help you get proportions.
ask yourself "how far is the edge of the eye to the face?", "How wide is the head compared to the shoulders?" that's help me a lot.
A good amount of work, keep it up
also remember to break those forms down work on those structures!
