    NEW color wheel for Photoshop!

We would like to present you with Coolorus – a new color wheel panel for Photoshop and Flash. We decided to release the beta version to get some feedback from the community and to fix any bugs, if found.

In our opinion Coolorus is the best color picker available on the Internet for Photoshop and Flash, and (with your help) it's going to get even better. It's fast, has a simple and clear UI, color schemes and two-wheel modes.
Any kind of feedback will be much appreciated, so please share your thoughts with us so that we can release the 1.0 as soon as possible.

You can download the app from Coolorus.com (Photoshop/Flash CS4-5.5 supported – we are planning to support CS3 in the near future).

You can try out Coolorus in trial mode or activate it in the 'License' tab of the panel.

    More info on Coolorus webpage

The current colour wheel that I use only has one feature that I dislike, and that's that when I'm rapidly colour picking it takes two to three seconds to respond, which kills flow like you wouldn't believe.

I'm speedpainting right now so I hope I can give you guys some accurate feedback in the coming hours

Edit: Eyedropper tool still lags, though less frequently but more randomly. Instead of being consistent the brush lags, and paints with the old colour before the new colour updates. The swatch on the plugin performs much faster than my other colour wheel plugin, which is a bonus. The trail and licence notifications feel invasive, if possible with the full version, remove those from the UI so that we don't have to feel like we're constantly being watched by the licence police.

The splash screen feels useless and I don't think it needs to be there. I like to have the colour wheel ready for use as soon as Photoshop loads.

Also, something tells me that if you somehow integrate an inbuilt Swatch or Palette feature that works and integrates seamlessly with this program, then it will be perfect. Right now there's a disconnect between the colour picker plugin and the existing swatches, if you present a solution to that I think you might be a lot better off.

I love the colour scheme lock as well. It's not bad.

Tried to stress test it, problem hasn't repeated. Looks like it was a one off.

If it happens again I'll let you know and stress test it again.

This seems fast, but I already bought MagicPicker which seems identical in speed and colour picking except for their bonus HSB/RGB sliders of any size. Are you going to go for a lower price point with the 1.0 or some features to buy us MagicPicker users over? A feature I would love to see in one of these is a keyboard shortcut for cycling the colours in colour schemes, it would be handy to press a button and switch from one colour to its compliment.

There is one bug which I noticed straight away, hovering -out- of the coolorus panel gives Photoshop focus, which isn't ideal for a two-monitor setup (win7 64bit, CS5 64bit).

This is really cool! I've been using PaintersWheel and love it, but the one big issue is it does lag a lot after Photoshop has been open for a certain amount of time (only appears to affect Windows, though). Restarting PS fixes the lag, but if it could be gone altogether that'd be great. And it also has the bug you mention on your website, inaccurate/jumpy color picking at the edges. I'll give yours a try and signed up for more info. Thanks for developing it!

A full copycat of http://anastasiy.com/panels ? Why? You think that making replications will make you famous? I doubt that. It's what makes you a copycat.

So please give us a few examples of the things that were NEW in Anastasiy's wheel that we actually copied.

you're kidding or you're joking? just look at your product and Anastasiy's. it's like trying to redraw some famous portrait and asking "what? i've just drawn a woman, nothing new". i'm not the first and i'm not the only who say you about that. just look up this thread. what do you copy next? blur filter? why don't you make some original product that does some sophisticated color conversion or layer management - something that is really needed?

This is great! Seems to be working fine for me.

I'd throw my money at you if you could implement a Gamut Mask feature though. Something like this: http://www.livepaintinglessons.com/gamutmask.php

The fuck centauro, Its a colour wheel! with your reasoning you can say, that Anastasiy copied the painter colourwheel. A docked colourwheel is very much needed, and the more plugins that provide this feature the better. (the customer can pick and choose which one they like best).

I second this suggestion, only thing that would make me spend money on a color wheel since the free one seems to be working fine for me.

I'm just a little curious about the "variety" of posters that are upset about another color wheel....

Totally agree, if this was implemented it would definitely be more of an incentive to buy. As it is now it is awesome, but the function would ultimately sell it for me. As portus mentioned I use the free one too, and that works nicely for what it does.

well copy or not coolorus will be $10 or less (as said on the website) and Magic Picker is $14. They both do the same thing so yah, coolorus it is unless magic picker drops their price

So after using this awhile i've spotted one problem. After picking a color i have to click back into the drawing window before i can paint again, causing a useless stroke and the pressing of my undo hotkey. I'm in windowed mode or w/e you call it using cs5.

I love this color wheel, I looks way (and works) way better than the other two!

I have one request, please add a dark interface version for cs6.
