Ever wondered just what his work actually looks like? There's a bunch of scans here

In general there's a lot of inspiring work here. I found the site while searching Hamish Blakely.

Oh, 13 and 36 are nice (the somewhat angry lady and the fallen lady+boy). I like it more than the works where the expressions are romanticized, shame there are so few.
Thanks for sharing !
The one with the guy running after those chickens - the barn sort of creates a tangent with his hand and makes it look like he's carrying a badly drawn gun.
I'm so glad you posted these. I've been wishing I could see some of his illustrations outside of the books.

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.

I do think the kids and chickens one would be a stronger composition if the boy overlapped the barn to where there was no air between the two, basically his cool white shirt against the cool purplish front of the barn.
