Robot from Japan (where else?)
I think it'd be nice though to just post 1 image, then the link. The problem is that alot of people only have the individual images, not a source for them, so attaching is really the only convenient thing to do. But can't you attach stuff but make it only read as a text-link?
hey can any1 tell me a llink to a nice mechanical model
plz mail that link to me at [email protected]
I took some photos, too. Not great quality as most were snapped from the train.
Maybe someone can do something with these. I haven't for shure...
Mixed quality, theme and file size. Apologies.
Holy crap! What the f*** is that thing?!
Oh shit! It's that thing! I've seen pics of it before.
Oh man, it's so fricken sweet. Multiple orgasms.
"Especially large bucket-wheel excavators, over 200 meters long and up to 100 meters in height, are used in German strip-mining operations, and are the largest earth-movers in the world. These tremendous machines can cost over $100 million, take 5 years to assemble, require 5 people to operate, weigh more than 13,000 tons, and have a theoretical capacity of more than 12,000 m³/h.
Specifically, the RB293 bucket wheel excavator manufactured by MAN Takraf is recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest land vehicle." - Wikipedia

A high res photo of one here.

I was looking up Honda's ASIMO for some robot reference and inspiration, and also discovered ASIMO's prototypes, the E-series and P-series robots. It's quite a neat metamorphosis from the earliest prototype to the final version.
Wasker, COOL pics.
Is that robot real? What does it do?
i believe this is what you're looking for?

That's Bagger 288. A giant excavator and transportation device.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagger_288
You get some nice images of similar machines if you search for "bucket-wheel excavator" (which is what Bagger is) on google images - Link.
This is worth looking at for some beautiful photos of derelict and abandoned places, usually restricted access sites not open to the public like industrial sites, underground tunnels, military sites, asylums and hospitals, etc. It's fascinating AND there's some epic references to be found!

I just uploaded some photos of found mechanical objects to flickr. Hope someone finds them to be useful. They are nice and big, too.

You have to weed through the volumes of images but there are some incredible ones in there.

Hello!
As the German, I went ahead and searched for Tagebau. It's a mining site (definition) with INSANELY large machines.
German Wikipedia: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagebau
English Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-pit_mining
However, those are just peanuts to the quality provided here:
http://www.fam.de/deutsch/Produkte/T...nik/index.html
This is a german site, so I will present you a visual guide to navigating the page:
Picture 1: Those are the main categories. I have tried them all, every single category has high-quality pictures of something.
Coarse Translation:
- Tagebautechnik - Open-Pit Mining Tools
- Lagerplatztechnik - Storage Space Tools
- Aufbereitungstechnik - Packaging and Preparation Tools
- Verladesysteme - Transportation Tools (Via Truck or similar)
- Fördertechnik - Transportation Tools (Via Pipes and similar)
- Hafentechnik - Naval/Port Technology
- Komponenten - Components
Picture 2: In the middle are the sub-categories. Please don't make me translate those, even I have no damn idea what half of those things are xD They are big and mechanical, okay?
Picture 3: As far as I can tell, every subcategory has downloadable, high-res pics to save. Just click on the floppy on the right side of the screen which I've conveniently highlighted. Keep scrolling, there might be more. Lots of categories to choose from too!
You're done! Just make sure you don't download the clips unless you want to (they will have a movie strip below the floppy).
Like Hiding the Daylight from the Sun.
Like trying to save the Icecube from the cold.

Oh Great Its seems like Giant Robert !!!!
Robotics technology trends
When it comes to robots, reality still lags science fiction. But, just because robots have not lived up to their promise in past decades does not mean that they will not arrive sooner or later. Indeed, the confluence of several advanced technologies is bringing the age of robotics ever nearer - smaller, cheaper, more practical and cost-effective.
For me I teach about Robert from

Thank You
