    Thumbs up while( !CanMakeALivingFromThis( ANtY->drawingSkill ) ) ANtY->improve();

    Hey folks!

    I decide to start a new sketchbook for a few reasons. For a half of a year I was drawing without listening to other's advice or anything like that and I stopped at the dead spot. I even started regressing, not progressing at this point.
    I'm gonna do all the boring stuff from the beginning in hope that I'll become an awesome artist soon enough, cheer on me!

    Here is my last and first at the same time sketchbook if you're interested - http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=226414&page=4

    It's also going to be a small documentation of my progress and learning techniques I'll be using, so let's start, shall we?

    Firstly I'm gonna read all tutorials about perspective I found on this forums and practice a little:

    Practiced perspective with some primitives a lot, also did one character for my game, since I have to, even if I'm not good enough to make things like this :/

    Alright, I'll jump right in with some critiques:
    The eyes seem a bit small, same with the mouth (although I'm no expert on early human anatomy).
    Watch the shoulders, they're a bit asymmetrical and wonky.
    The neck is also a little long and stretched-looking.
    A good start none the less! I hope to see more!
    A parting word: don't get too stuck into line work, you should try building
    values, adding highlights and shadows, etc. Good luck

    Edit: Just saw your blog and noticed that you don't appear to be stuck in linework! just ignore what I said about that!

    Hi WRappiii

    Thanks for your time, yeah it seems like eyes should be a little bigger, I had some bad feelings about shoulders and neck after finishing this but it was kinda too late to fix ^^

    True, I'm not really stuck with linework, I just tried this style once and programmer from my team (we make a game) said that he'd like to have all characters in this style so :p

    One more and some shapes/brushstrokes practice

    Didn't have much time today, tomorrow I'm starting some serious practice so I went lazy for a while to be prepared for what's coming.

    Did only this one "sprite" for an Android game, it's not detailed because it's gonna be 60x60 in the game so...
    Also the shading on its belly is epic, just noticed it ^^

    New character (don't bother with his torso, I also didn't because it's not gonna be visible in the game), if you'd like to compare it to the previous one, here's the version I drew 3 months ago http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-in6yzItqHF.../s1600/moa.jpg

    I've added the process so maybe it'll be easier for you to see my mistakes, it can be tricky cause if I don't draw in this 'comics' style I approach it kinda differently, but it really varies since I don't know which method is the best.

    Nice start, and thanks 4 the sweet perspective tut links.

    So for some critiques, the brush stroke calligraphic practice, I'd say its a waist of time. The very act of drawing will strengthen your calligraphy. And maybe later on, practicing cursive or something may help you. But for now, Id say dont spend your precious time on that.

    Also, I see a lack of drawings done from either live figures or figures in photos. Imo, you should do LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of figure gestures, and figure drawings. From life or photo. Keep it up!

    @KONM: Thank you very much

    @Immortal Cintiq:
    Thanks and no problem, I'll try to post links to more cool tutorials when I find any worth it

    This is kinda cool (digital rendering tutorial - How to render your concept, 4 parts)
    http://youtu.be/F9NDdQBZ8PU - shading with multiply layer
    http://youtu.be/QnzXrn2uOdk - hilghlighting with overlay layer
    http://youtu.be/whTjD92YYQM - basic color theory
    http://youtu.be/CVsEsXkkO3o - coloring with overlay layer

    Yeah, it wasn't my idea and i resigned from doing this, you're right.

    LOL, I thought that my latest drawings mostly consist of photo studies, when I can I also try to draw from life but I don't attend any classes or anything where I could do that so it isn't easy to find a good opportunity, in school I see mainly ppl's backs. So I have to draw from photos >.>

    Anyway, 2 more gestures/characters from http://artsyposes.com
