    Caricatures, sketches and studys :)

    Hi Fellows,

Here I would like to post some caricatures that I did recently.
I would like to begin with the Jason Kidd caricature:

This caricature I made for Caricaturama 3000 weekly contest and fortunately was awarded. This caricature was selected for the issue 74 of 2d artist's magazine and featured at CGArena website.

    Dita Von Teese

In this caricature I think that I had a little different approach than usual. I was concerned with push the caricature further, but one of the main characteristics of Dita is her sensuality and I wouldn't loose this with too much deformation. Anyway, this still a caricature and need to be funny

I've tried to bring some retro feeling to the visual composition, she has this kind of pinup visual. Painting this job was definitely really enjoyable and quite fast. I took a couple of days to compose this piece.

Fortunately, Dita caricature was chosen as the week challenge winner at Bookface caricatures artists website. Besides that, this caricature was featured in CGArena website.

    I hope u enjoy!
    Cheers!

    JK Simmons :)

    Hello Again

Here is a caricature of the expressive actor JK Simmons. When asked about caricature subjects, he was among my preferred options.
Everybody like's him, this is impressive . I like his facial expressions and his very trick face topology.

    I hope you enjoy .

    Cheers!

    Very nice! MORE!
I was once on the receiving end of a critique so savagely nasty, I marched straight out of class to the office and changed my major (sketchbook).

    Cantinflas

Thank you so much Vigostar, Cos Koniotis ,Pavel and Stoat for so nice and encouraging messages

I am trying my best to keep this up

This is a caricature suggested by my friend Walter Toscano.
Is about a mexican humorist called Fortino Mario Alfonso Moreno Reyes (Cantinflas).
I've tried to play with his face a little more than another caricatures that I've already did.

    I hope you enjoy!

No, no, no...they're all brilliant. I just looked up Cantinflas. The man's eyes ARE far apart, but I don't think I could pull off what you just did -- detaching one and letting it hang in outer space like a separate organism.

    Louis

Now I would like to show you my Louis Armstrong caricature:

I always looked for a good reason to do a caricature of Louis Armstrong. An online contest really encourage me to run into this. I love almost all Louis Armstrong songs and, like a infinite number of artists around the world, I like to listen his music while I work, to inspire and mood up myself. His sympathetic voice and sweet way of sing seems to harmonize our ideas and lead us to nice accomplishments.

Enjoying the process of painting this caricature, I lost for a few hours the contest delivery date because of timezone issues (lol). I really would like to delivery this piece in time, to me was a great pity... but after a good sleep night, I realized I didn´t have to be upset with this stupid mistake. I was really liking to do the painting, to run into some details... and I really liked the distortion and the composition. I was really optimistic, I should make use of this feeling, even a little disappointed now.

Technically I've created some brushes to paint the skin texture, hair and the little scratches that compound the slightly worn metal look.

This is the result of almost five days of work.

    I hope you all enjoy.

These are really unique and incredibly well done! I'm in love with the Armstrong piece. The texture in the skin is brilliant! How did you do that? Is it a process, brush, or did you just get in there and put in the work one stroke at a time? (I suspect the latter the more closely I look at it)

    Scorsese

    Hi fellows!

Thank you for so kind words
    I'm really very glad!

Thank you Vigostar, Danny_K, Leonwynn and D-reaux!

Jon Laing, in Louis caricature I used a brush that I've created for the skin and sometimes adjusted the result wish regular brush strokes.

Here is another caricature that I did these days. Its a Scorsese painted for an exhibition about the Oscar here in Brazil.

    Hope you enjoy!

Eff'n awesome. I cant get enough of these. Most people will do basic distortions like make eyes incredibly large or small, large nose etc..... but, you have this great take on caricatures. Do you only do caricatures?
