I tried submitting this to the IDW forum but it never got posted. The concept was to create an ice harpoon.

My concept: portable ice harpoon launcher to shoot down large birds. The purpose of the ice is so that it leaves the birds intact without the need to remove the harpoon. It has legs that fold out and extend to absorb the impact of the launch. It has the power to take the moisture out of the air to create the ice with an auto-freeze element to create the harpoon.

Here's a concept I created for a contest on DeviantArt to create an "Organic Evolved Craft".

concept: eats the meat of its predators and spits out the rotting fluids. After maturity, it is able to detach itself from the ground and fly across the fumes from the fluid it has spit out, seeking out its prey. It has no eyes, its only means of detecting its prey is from tiny nostrils surrounding the top of its mouth.

Final

Dragonado is an air elemental that uses it's ability to create tornados to hunt and kill it's prey. He finds his prey by using his tongue as his sense of smell, finding food that is flying through it's air currents. His claws can capture and hold very large animals. He has no need for eyes as nothing stands in his way.

WIP for C.O.W. 251 - 6-legged albino speedster. After a few different directions, this is what I've settled with. Now my main problem is showing speed. Should be interesting.

Midrib Jumper
A tree dweller that uses it's 6 legs for stability and quick maneuverability through thick, knotted and twisted branches. It can jump off of high limbs and use it's tail for steering in the air to nearby limbs.

Throaty Raptor

This raptor can soar through the air with it's mouth open wide catching birds in flight.
