Hi all,
I spent two weeks over Christmas and New Year visiting my brother in Japan, and produced a sketchbook while I was there - here goes:
So there we have it - a lot of images I'm afraid
Let me know what you think,
Cheers!
Phil
Ohh, I'm envious of your trip. It's great to see sketches like these without knowing the place or seeing photos attached, getting a unique perspective.
As a side note, I'm amazed at how badly designed the cover of the "japan rail pass" is.
ThanksYeah, a bit of an obvious choice of image for a japanese rail pass I thought, but then we would say that! Love the watercolours on your blog by the way
Phil
Really nice!
I can feel the Japan and Kyoto...
ahhh....souvenirs!.....
I like, one of my favorites is the Fushimi Inari one. I like your grey/black ambiancy.
Thank you for posting and sharing it!
Thanks for dropping by Eien, and thanks for the comments
Here's the latest batch of sketchbook work - pubs, around town, life drawing etc:
All comments welcome
Thanks all,
Phil
your ink work is so amazing!! I'm always so scared of using ink for sketches...
I really like your ink sketches, particularly the one of Kinkaku-ji. Really cool![]()
Kanda & Sleepingrabbit - thankyou very much for your kind commentsSorry I've not checked this thread to reply earlier.
I've got a bunch of new sketchbook images to upload here, and a small portrait painting done at Life Sessions in Notts:
Cheers,
Phil
