Not really sure where I'm going with this, if this goes anywhere at all. A little less... thought out than the rest of my other chow attempts. Good practice anyway.

More of the wip - what do you guys think, cleavage/no cleavage? I like the wimple because of the saintly connotations, but I like the cleavage for compositional reasons. Also, that wimple in a pain in my bum. Also, can anyone find the veve for Granne Erzulie? I've searched and searched but have come up fruitless! Do I just use the one for Freda? :/// I can't seem to decide.

orangus: oh thanks a lot, maybe that's the balance thing that makes her "not look right"! I'll fix that.

Ebersol: ha ha thank you! ^__^ That's difficult for me to catch that voodo style because I know almost nothing about that... but that's a fascinating theme and I'll do my best to make her... erm... look more right, I suppose

Rano: thanks a lot! There it is
I think thumb #5 is my favourite one, but others are graet too and you can use them in other characters!

theUNKNOWNsketcher: I tried to make her a bit different among my other drawings of "beautiful girl with long legs", I read what MatejaPetkovic said about "works look all the same" not about mine drawings but I thought that it could be said about my works too. So I decided to make her a bit... but different Ha ha that's stupid but whatever.
But her feet... still not sure about them, will play with them after I finish a background.

Drygrass: I like your colors! Though I'd recommend you to add more deep shadows (falling shadows). Like the blue color! And it doesn't look dirty at all which is my big problem.

    ---

started coloring, will do my best to finish that before tomorrow evening... coloring of dark dark candlelight stuff is soooo difficult >__< CHOW gives me a lot of new skill

And a character sheet... OH MY GOD A CHARACTER SHEET
No life this weekend but a new drawing! YAY!

    Cool stuff in here.
    db-dawg
The light from the candles is rely nice. I also like her outfit. At this point the uttermost knee looks a bit unfinished. You also got some strong contrasts dragging the eye to that point.
    Drygrass
Looking cool. Perhaps you should work out the light behind her head what kind of light source it is.
    Kahtel
lovely picture. Maybe add some woodoo stuff.
    Rano
    3 is my favorite.
    blacrobin
I like the attitude in her face. torso and legs are also nice. The nearest arm looks a bit stiff the uttermost arm looks a bit long.
    Pixeltuner
Nice. I like her. I have one opinion about her pose. Her shoulders turns to her left . her head turns her right. And her eye looks at her left.
Why not flip her head to her left and let her look forward. In hat case I think her whole gesture would turn the same way.
    orangus
Great costume. looking forward to see if you going to have colors in. The style is a bit loos. I like that. Perhaps you could make her face with surroundings rely sharp and accurate.

From an outside observer that's been watching these things for a looong time, you guys are killing it this week!

I swear this could be a queen round.

Also, Pixeltuner, I think you've received some valid criticism about the way you pose your characters in this thread, but I just took a look through your sketchbook and damn dude... I'm a fan. No one's going to question your imagination, that's for sure.

Anyway, I don't blame you for making design your top priority... Just to play devil's advocate, if you're a concept artist working on a film or game the modeler is going to reinterpret the anatomy and pose anyway, right? You might as well put your focus into designing the shit out of your character.

I think Its better sons wimple.
Like you said, the composition is nicer.
From looking at the colour version, I can't see how the wimple could improve it.

Sorry man or girl but yours is just out of league... some 50's ma'm with extra hair lacquer!!!

you have to work on the sight of those eyes if you want to keep working on that piece, and clothes not made for a ball dance... sorry if too crude, but had to... I, a little coward that is always not making to it on any character...

thanks any way to everybody for working as you work, it gives me courage!!!

Thanks Well, like I said, indeed I focus mostly on design but that can make for a boring stiff image and since these CHOW's are mostly a 'popularity contest' it's good to think about the general public and how they'll perceive these and not consider this a design for a production pipeline.

kinda final, crits will be very welcomed, might have screwed composition or other things, btw i just realized most people go with the benevolent erzulie concept, and i think it fits the chow concept better, Loa of Love, i don't know, keep up the good work ppl

edit : thanks orangus for the comment, i worked abit more on this, and desaturated the background, it is pretty unfinished cause i already busted the deadline (2:00 am here), so pardon the mess, thanks again

Blackrobin: I like the loose style you went with, however I feel some areas of clarity, a bit more finished, where you intend the focus to be at, will be good. Also the color of the bg is right now making it look kinda monochromatic, maybe darkening it a wee bit may pop out her colors a bit more.

Ummm...not that I want to meddle or anything, but could you extend it to this whole week and make a 2 week ChOW out of it? Just to ensure more entries and give you a clean slate of normal 7 days for that week after this one...

Don`t mind me, I`m just doing my nails and talkin` jibberish...

RyNSWOrLD: Thanks for correcting that dagger in the heart position.. hah I cant believe I took it for granted where the heart is, should have checked it myself. Anyway, it would be rather embarassing for Erzulie Freda if she knew she punctured her lungs and not her heart ,lol.
