nice updates! i have to say i am still seeing the same problem with your colors, i would suggest going a little stronger in contrast. anyways you are putting in the practice so its only a matter of time before you get it down!

Great progress yemi your digital paintings and the human figure gets better and better . On the last imagination piece also draw him naked and in full pose first so can clean up errors in you anatomy, for now it feels like the body parts are not right attached to each other . Keep pushing dear!
Hi mate, your still lifes and figures/head constructions are getting better and better. The value study in #166 is really well observed. For your wip, I'd suggest double checking the symmetry. Since he's facing the camera head on, you should be able to check all the shapes for consistency... is his torso symmetrical? Are his forearms the same length and bulk? Are his ears the same height? And so on.
Liking this sketchbook. I have to agree with what kevin_ said about the colors, but doing lots of studies will help on that. Anyways just keep studying and working hard and you'll get good.![]()

Hey man thanks for stopping by my Sb! You study heads with the Lommis method don´t you? If you don´t know them already I´d suggest you checking out the "how to draw the head" vids from Stan Prokopenko http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EPNY...135B8D190B7C97 It´s based on the Loomis method but I personaly find it easier.
Your dedication is impressive!
keep it up~.....Yeah~
Good luck hitting your study goals!
Even if it looks like you'll miss one keep pushing to the end and get as much done as possible.

Loving the amount of studies yemi and the photostudies and mini still lifes looking real good. I see you have a bit of problems to connect body parts to each others well , i think first try to visualize them more in simple forms http://api.ning.com/files/8Jec8Mn3od...nstruction.jpg

Thanks for stopping by! I mostly had to teach myself almost everything i know when it comes to the form building im doing now, but mostly i give credit to Scott Robertson. I own all his DVDs and a few of his books. He is the only, and i mean only, person out there i have found so far that sells good material on learning this stuff. Im so greatfull for all that he has done. But in the end, even his videos will only take you so far. YOu really have to put in the mileage and reverse enginneer everything you see. Like what Feng Zhu says, dont ever copy a photo, always draw it from a different angle and map it out in side, front, and top view then draw it from different angles. Always start basic then lead to more advnaced stuff. If you ever need some help let me knowGreat updates!!! Im glad to see your putting in the mileage!!! Its going to pay off greatly

Nothing crazy here, but lately i've been doing building studies to understand perspective....I'm taking baby steps because perspective already scares me as it is. i applied for a scholarship program last week hope i get in been stressing out but oh well. oh also my intuos 5 stopped working thank god for my old bamboo, it made realize that the tablet doesn't make the artist it's all about hard work and understanding.
If you guys have anything to study for perspective feel free to make suggestions and these perspective studies are off as fuck, i will do better on the next ones though.
gotta hit Loomis for figure perspective...

Good job on all the studies and painting.
For perspective I am currently studying from these gary meyer dvds.
I also recommend the carl dobsky 1 and 2 point video downloads, but I have no idea to buy them, so yeah...
Good luck!
hey mate thanks for leaving a comment ,I recommend andrew loomis successful drawing book and norlings perspective made easy(they are very similar books).
also when doing perspective work I find that you learn more if you try to feel the space within the picture, you want to trick your brain into thinking its
looking into a window of 3d space and not a flat 2d picture plane.once you tast a bit of that spacial awareness try to feel it in every form you draw.
it may seem like bullshit but for me this idea helped tremendously.
good luck with your studies.
be the change you want to see! help me improve by leaving a comment and Ill help you.

Yemi Yemi Yemi D:
so hard working as always
nice to see you practicing perspective and loomis! : )
just remember to not set the two vanishing points too close to each other >"<
also maybe some color studies?
so far all your colors are too bright, maybe make the lighter/grey areas a bit less saturated
keep pushing all those awesome studies! and make me feel bad
: D
Keep it up Yemi, there isn't much too say. You definitely are on the right track.

Hi Yemi; and thanks for checking out my sb. The book; if your didn't see my reply Is Basic Perspective Drawing: A Visual Guide. By John Montague (the red one not the blue and yellow one). Nice to see you're making an effort to learn perspective. A lot of artists fake it and put off learning it because it just seems less about art and more about math. But it really is a liberating skill that you can't see the benefit of untill you understand it; then when you have it you can't see why other people wouldn't want to seek it out. I would recommend getting Perspective made easy first, go through that (it's quite a small book) then go through BPD. Also i recommend drawing everything in the book rather than just reading through it.
Keep going man!! Your making good prgress!![]()
I second the opinion that perspective is a most important skill to get under your belt; it really does open up your world one you know it inside and out (not to say that I do at all, ha). Keep up the hard work and good studies!
hot damn dude if you learn perspective you can become even more of an art best quite quickly its a win win investment go for it! also amazing progress for the ime i was gone im speechless the construction its all there, there are some problems with balance but all in all you are becoming an artist of your own and THAT deserves a big pat on the back for yourself this is what will take you to bigger heights and solving your own problems its a big issue in us young artists make the effort and the fruit will be as tasty as ever
