I really dig your oil work. Thanks for the advice and I will keep checking in on you....

The ca...maybe its because it seems to static...non-moving. I fancy myself as a fine-artist though, so ca is not my real forte.

hey man, great stuff here. your life studies are awesome. nice variation of drawing and painting too, which is nice.

the only thing i can think of is maybe spend a little more time on the imaginative stuff, and a little less on the life studies, seing as they need less work, and your imaginative stuff needs more work. but then again im a bad example as i dont do nearly enough life studies, so maybe i should just shut up ^-^

anyway, great stuff all round, keep up the good work

    Oi

Your reference work is very good, your studies are strong and there fore will make you stronger. I rather like the girl holding the cat. Continue and enjoy.

Hey draw, how's Brissy? Nice and sunny I bet.

nice sketchbook, lots of work, you are working hard dude. I sort of agree with hurricane's comment about creative stuff falling behind a little. Keep up the anatomy studies, those feet studies look great. Nice lines on life drawing ones.

You know i was flicking your thread the other day, I saw the "telstra" phone and went "hang on.. that's..hmmm" haven't see one in a while but I so remember those phones. hehe.. anyway good stuff, keep drawing/painting.

    cheers,

Your live gestures are very good.
Also some of the coloured pieces look fine but for example those drawk knights are way too saturated.
It's funny how your faces drawn from a reference differences from ones from mind. I think that you don't spend too much time on those no-ref ones...

    Keep on drawing!

I love it. Keep going! Your style is popping out all over the place. The key is to practice, practice, and then....when you are tired...practice some more. Then take a break.

The oils are beautiful, love them! Not much I can add to everyone's suggestions, but study study study...don't worry, it'll eventually come through your no-ref work. Drawing from ref is like training your muscles for a certain task, i.e. martial arts. You train and train and train and one day, your body remembers what to do even though your mind is blank. Keep it up!

Nice bro, I'd have to echo what everyone has said and say I think your Referenced stuff seems to be the strongest so far but your working hard at it and it's going to pay off. Try maybe to combine some the anatomy with the work your creating from your imagination, at least have it there as a guide and it might help until you get into good habits. Keep it up, I'll be watching.

draw, good to see you going strong, it's always a struggle for us kind. I absolutely love that portrait, nice use of cool colours. It looks a bit unfinished, but it has so much potential I think you should go ahead and finish it off with some definitions for clothing and the hair.

Nice anatomy studies, I remember seeing those images somewhere. awsome stuff, keep it going!

This is an idea I've been working on the last few days for a large oil painting. I haven't used any ref nor do I want to at the moment shes missing an arm but I still like the composition without the arm.

Anyway here's the initial sketch and where I'm at now.

Here's an earlier version that had a lot of problems with the body but I cropped a nice portrait from it.

Bought a watercolour set to take with me OS, this is my first attempt at a watercolour study (in memory) , its a lot more difficult then I expected, I'll be do one a day for the 3 months while I'm away and hopefully when I get back it will add more punch (a bone crunching haymaker back of the head elbow shot with knee shattering the kidney) to my oil paintings

    Oh... it's Southbank
