No, he's too wolverinish. He looks too cool. Remember, Supermans alter ego is a somewhat dorky reporter, you can't have someone like Jackman play that role. I think the guy on Smallville would actually do a good job, and maybe... well, if Orlando Bloom could transform from sissy mode to buff ass-kicking mode, he would do alright...

Seriously, I think in these cases its best to draft an unknown, and make sure he fits the role. There aren't always actors to fit a character, and in that case its best to go for an unknown who does. Heck, it worked beautifully for LOTR.

unknown actors in LOTR?! seriously, you know who john rhyes-davies (spelling?) is right? does indiana jones ring a bell? what about sean astin... goonies anyone or even rudy? even viggo is a seasoned actor. i can't think of anyone in that movie who was an unknown really. correct me if i'm wrong (which is probably the case)

anyway, superman can't get any better than christopher reeve.

Orlando Bloom wasn't well known, neither was Viggo, and I'd NEVER seen those two other hobbit actors either (too lazy to look their names up). Agent Smith wasn't well known either. Oh...wait. :p

Fact is, that nobody in that movie was a big actor except for Liv Tyler. Maybe the other actors had had other roles, but nothing that made them stick out. (except Davies, and Weaving)

yeah i agree with dfacto with the unkown. they could really ruin it if they just went with a big name. but ofcourse superhero movies are hard to nail. but there hasn't been a superman movie in forever so it suck if the move blew.
