    Hello,

    My name is Adam Dawidowicz. Living in Warsaw, Poland, 28 y.o. Freelance graphic designer on duty. As for other personal details: I've got crazy adopted dog and a girlfriend to hug. Hopefuly I will manage to keep it that way .

    I have a dream - become a concept artist in game industry. Yes I know, I'm a bit old to start completely new career. But I can't get it out of my mind, so I figured out that it would be best to stop thinking and start acting. It won't be easy, I've got a lot of work to do, and a hell to learn... so here I start! Maybe someday I will surpass The Best of you
    Wish me luck,

    Sincerely yours,
    A.D. vel dtouched

    First pic is one of most recent. Two others are almost prehistory from more than two years ago. I am showing them to give you a picture how much unused skill (of painting and any other) may erode.

    Apart from these, there will be only new stuff.

    Welcome to CA!
    The proportions and values on the first image are very solid
    but the colors are very basic and "fake" looking.
    I'm guessing you colored it from b&w by using a layer set to "color".
    It's better to use an overlay layer, using colors around the value 50.
    That way you can control hue and saturation on the same layer.
    Photoshop also has stuff like Color Balance etc. USE IT!

    On a minor note, don't use too much black. It really flattens your pictures down.
    Only use black/near black for areas where there is nearly no light at all.

    Hope that helps

    Here are my two recent dsg speeds (about 1-2h each), with purpose to play with Xelar's advices on coloring. I think I'm starting to get it.
    As for basics such as anathomy etc. I'm training them in paper sketchbook. Basic poses and human things, nothing interesting so I won't post them not to bore you

    Nice update, personally i like your color, and contrast. Especially in your latest works.

    Had you seen Feng Zhu videos so far? They are very inspiring in terms of values, and many more. http://www.fengzhudesign.com/tutorials.htm

    Pejzaż z górą i jakby kraterem pod nim, świetny! ale wydaje mi się że ździebko pomniejszyć by się go przydało Na moim monitorze ogląda się najpierw samą górę idealnie bez dołu i dopiero potem (Aa-haa) dolną część, jakby 2 obrazki w efekcie. No chyba, że to zamierzony efekt?

    Hellow dtouched!
    That monster in the latest update looks cool! Seems like you always care much about the contrast in your work. That's good =)
    But for the colours I would even suggest to do some still life paintings and photo studies to get a feeling of how light and colours are working.
    And maybe it would be good to show us some of your figure studies too! It's always possible that people around here have some good advices to improve them.

    Keep up the good work! =)

    @pgf95
    @Valyavande

    As you suggested I'm uploading some sketches and studies. Anathomy stuff is based on "Anathomy for artists" by Sarah Simblet and John Davis. Poses are mix from this book and posemaniacs.com. I know they are not perfect yet, it seems that I need to train my eye in getting general shape and proportions.

    @tsabu
    Thanks a lot for this tutorial videos - they are indeed a great source of inspiration and information. As for the issue with listening post, I could of course come up with some convincing excuse, but I must admit that it was not intended

    Welcome to CA.org!

    Dobra to teraz kilka rad, muszisz wiecej rysowac mniej dziubac na tablecie.
    to rada zyciowa wyciagnieta z moich wlasnych bledow, ja zaczalem powiem brzydko od dupys trony czyli od tabletu zamiast porzadnej dawki olowka/cienkopisu. To co wyniesiesz z mediow tradycyjnych to zloto, uwierz mi

    Bedzie dobrze tylko cwicz duzo i w miare regularnie, salut!

    @Icecold:
    Dzięki za radę. Media tradycyjne (głównie cienkopis plus tusz) porzuciłem właśnie na rzecz tabletu. Sęk w tym, że w dziubaniu jakimkolwiek miałem parę lat przerwy i sporo umiejętności poszło w zatarcie (choć szczytów wcześniej też nie osiągałem ). Cóż, zwątpienie i "zdrowy rozsądek" otoczenia potrafi zdewastować zapał.

    Not much this time, since I got to do some paid (hopefuly) logo work. I'm trying recently to make some value quickies (around 10 mins). Two examples below.

    Recently I joined an indie game group and agreed to make few artworks for them. Since the project is still in concept stage, we're seeking for the basic shapes and feel.

    First version of the city, overview.

    Something new at last, after so many months beeing stuck in the photo retouching. A piece for a League of Legends contest, featuring one LoL hero (Malphite) and one 3rd season item (Ohmwrecker). Critique is welcomed and encouraged :).

    And the two evening memory sketches (around 5-7 minutes) from the morning walk. Tommorow I'll take phone with me to take some references. I've got some sketches from the character design concept-art course I participated recently, but my scanner refuses to cooperate atm.
