Some things I did in high school. The colored one is a watercolor of a ritualist from Guild Wars (not trying to take credit for her design here)
Couple more oldish things.
Did this just today. My first completed digital illustration in photoshop/corel painter. For my first time seriously trying with this medium I'm sorta happy with myself but already see things I'm gonna try to do better in my next shot. Comments/Critiques are sooooo welcome.
Recent charcoal piece I did from a photograph

Some quick warm up sketches of friends from photos. All of them are also taken with my cell phone so the quality is craptastic.
looks pretty good so far! I say just keep on drawing from life, and never put your pencil down. Also, try studying some anatomy, it will help you improve a lot ^_^
Thanks viki ohI'm trying to focus my time lately on observations. I used to rarely do it but I know better now and really want to improve.
An oil painting of an apple I had set up on a red towel. I really enjoyed the oilsFor one of my first serious attempts at an oil still life I'm pretty content. I'm going to work longer next time and maybe have more than a single object
nice oilstry and do alot portraits in the future aswell?
I like the still life up top
the bottom of the apple looks... well, as if it isn't really there, sitting on the red. maybe there was some shadow/reflected light that you may have missed?
keep it up!

"critique needed!!"
Hey thanks dudeAnd yea I see what you mean about the apple. It's a little awkward.
But yea I'm definitely just going to practice more with the oils and hopefully get better.
Thanks again![]()
Great work on the oil painting! Keep it up.
Thank you Brotje![]()
Beginning of a value practice after watching the Color Theory and Light class provided by CA.org. Done with oils
Couldn't sleep because of a tummy ache, so I just doodled in photoshop. Was fiddling with the skin tone
Draw more. You strike me as a very talented young lady who would greatly benefit from a good grind. Try devoting an entire evening to drawing of any and all sorts, nothing but drawing.
I did notice that your skin tone doodle there looks a little wonky, I think the foreshortening in her legs is off and her breasts seem to be attached to her chest in an odd fashion. Are you more comfortable drawing faces than bodies? If so, you should draw a lot more bodies. If not, you should still draw a lot more bodies.
Good work, keep it up. Hell, escalate it.
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...33#post2548933 I have a sketchbook.
Thanks a bunch for the encouragementAnd yea the sketch was something I did while exhausted at like 3 in the am but regardless I don't have much experience drawing figures and going to practice that more.
Thanks so much![]()
Started drawing a woman using a photo reference. Continuing after I get some errands done today.
nice charcoal piece
Very nice work so far. I like your charcoal pieces especially, good blending going on there.
I can't wait to see more![]()
Thanks guysCharcoal is my favorite medium.
Nice linework. As for critiques, I would say push your values a bit more, as things are looking a bit too flat as of now. Keep posting!
A bit more progress on the woman and I treated myself to a quickie cartoon sketch for some silly fun. Now back to work.
thanks for visiting my sb. are you going for an anime style here?
I USED to draw a lot of anime when I was younger, and I only do it now in little doodles like the one I have above for nostalgia/amusing myself. I've been trying to do more realistic things lately and find my own unique style.
Another update on the woman.. trying to push my values. I'm getting tired of this piece it's taking me forever but I'm gonna actually complete this and not flake off like I would have in the past. Raaaaaawr!![]()
Hey there!
I liked the oil painting, and I have to agree: some cast shadow and a little red reflection on the apple itself would put it "there" instead of floating.
I also get the impression that you're a bit afraid of dark values ruining your drawings, but hey, you need them to suggest shape (I'm thinking of the girl on your last post)
As someone said before, I'd focus more on drawing (pure line drawing) instead of working on fine rendering.
Keep it up, 'cause things are looking really nice!![]()
I like what you have so far. I would work on value a bit more, though.
