I just wanted to ask for any critique or advice on how I can improve my Design-Portfolio and understanding of Design.
Please tell me your opinion because it is kind of new. Feel free to write into my article.

Hey JiR,
The first thing that jumped out at me: The images are being displayed at a larger size than the originals: causing some pixelation when viewing.
While it is ok (but not the best idea for page load times) to display an image at a smaller size, you should avoid displaying at a size larger than the original resolution like the plague: it just looks bad.
But I did like the work: particularly Rohlfing and Erfurth Malerbetrieb.
It's a good start but too dark - for me... The logos make some contrast however so I suppose it's OK. Part of the FB LIKE button is behind one logo, you should correct that. The logo is nice. The portfolio links need some improvement too : the hover effect is not so elegant and they're too wide. The favicon should have the same color shame as the site.
Generally your site doesn't look 'ugly' as you typed (asked?) in the post title, but there is definitely some place for improvements.

Why yellow text? Why this background? Look at some other people portfolio first...
Great design work - good stuff, you have a good mix. The portfolio containing the logos could be presented better. The logos are placed in large blank square areas. Though it is a great way to show-off the graphic design, it would be nice to also see that design in an actual setting, like on a letterhead, or business card, or wherever it is going to be used. In that way, potential clients get a better feel for your graphics, it makes it easier for them to imagine their own logo in use.

The actual portfolio is totally ok. I'm not bothered with the design in any way. What I feel is a problem for me is the quality of your actual content though, you have good stuff, but it feels like you tried to stuff your portfolio with content whatever it's good or not. It's your portfolio, show your best side, and that you are working for quality, not quantity!
