    Damn I love those thumbnails, so effortless and confident looking brushing! You seem to be great at achieving a mood and the lightings look very convincing. It's very useful to see what kind of studies you do. The "quick matte sketch" is incredible... You've got yourself a fanboy!

    Please keep them coming!

    What a shame I haven't seen your sb before. I love the crispy edges of your environments, there are a lot of cool conceptual ideas in there.

    I'd like to see more of your work, you seem to have a good way of learning, applying and improving.

    Hehe thanks guys

    @smuli : As funny as it seems, absolutely EVERYONE is telling me about my colors and lights. It's funny
    I need to work more on the other stuff, like composition etc. Sucks that it doesn't come as easily as light.

    @LastGen :
    I need to do more though, from january till march I used to do one study everyday, but now I have too much projects etc at school, it's eating my time.
    Hopefully I can start doing some more everyday at the end of june.

    Great work man, some of this is incredibly good. I think the biggest thing you could benefit from is detail management. Your detailing has a tendency to disrupt the space and it can weaken the depth of your work. Same goes for character work, though obviously disrupting the flow rather than the depth. I think the last char you did with 6 arms was your strongest by far.

    Very good work so far.

    Some feedback:
    - Do you ever draw / paint environments from life? If not, do so and post some of the results. I'd love to see them.
    - Anatomy studies look good. Try to do them from both ref and imagination (if you aren't already ).
    - I would also love to see you give yourself a big concept art assignment: start with a written brief for an enviroment and some characters. Then show us your process: thumbnails, roughs, final drawings, color studies and final paintings.

    But really, I can't offer any other crits though since the quality of this SB is already very good. You seem to be improving fast, so whatever you do: just keep posting! Good luck.

    Some of these are just topnotch!
    Loving the crispy edges and occasional crazy colors.
    Either you use a whole lot of photos in your matte paintings or you blend in the brush work incredibly well. Looks good either way^^
    You tend to use a little too much black but
    it might just be part of the "look" so it's not too bad.

    Keep up the good work!

    Thanks guys ! Much appreciated

    @kapri:

    Yep, I do paint from life. Well more from pictures actually. Here's one from ' pulp fiction ' just after those lines.
    I'll do that this summer yes. I really want to get better with characters, you're right I don't do enough anatomy ref.

    If you want I have a livestream channel where you can see my whole process
    here's the link :
    http://www.livestream.com/exphrasis

    @Stpete : Funny you say that, actually half of my old artworks are robots and spaceships haha !
    on this old page :
    http://exphrasis.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48
    There's a couple of them
    Thanks again for the kind words !

    @Xelar :

    thanks !
    Actually I do both. I usually start with some picture elements to get some textures and colors, but I really almost never keep the picture elements.
    If you want you can also check my last livestream ( in my answer to Kapri), since in the last one I do it at the beginning.
    You're right about the black, it's a bad tendency I have because of the thumbnails, I usually put too much contrast in them.

    Here's also a little demoreel for you guys !
