Sketchbook from Brooklyn

There are so many talented people on this forum, so I decided to begin a sketchbook. I don't know what to write about myself, except that I do not go to art school, which makes study art even harder. I draw during lectures on scrap paper and margins of notebooks, sorry that my drawings are not always clean.
I'll be glad for any advice.
Two portraits below are self portraits, but they don't look like me, as usual.
PS. Sorry if there're mistakes in my post, English is not my native language. And I struggle with it everyday. heh
PPS. I began a sketchbook here some time ago, but I kind of neglected it, so I decided to begin another one.

I did this self-portrait in may 2011. Usually I hate my SP, but I content with this one.

i like your work, its good to see someone still studying more traditional arts even they dont go to art school. good stuff

Thank you guys for replies! I will do more of sketches on bus/ street.
For now I would like to focus more on traditional art to understand form, etc and also it seems easier and faster for me to pick up a pencil or pen and draw something than use photoshop.
