I've just determined who all of your recipients will be. I'm sending PM's now. If you haven't sent me an address, do so now - I don't know what an APO address is, so I'd prefer an actual street, city, and country. Also, write a short description of what you'd like to receive - it can be as specific as you wish, and it usually makes it easier on your Secret Santa. Don't worry about being selfish, or even silly. Someone gave a totally ridiculous request last year:

"For christmas I want a squad of mercenaries to hunt down the grim reaper for me. (optional) the grim reaper likes to ride a zombie unicorn."

And the result was spectacular! So have fun with this.

Oh, and just as a gripe to the administration here, waiting three minutes between PM's is making this task of mine last over an hour. I understand you get spam, but it's frustrating.

Address received, will start working pronto. Do you have a date when you want us to send, or do we just send so that it will arrive as close to Christmas as possible?

Due to how big delays can be around Christmas, you want to make something and send it as soon as possible - if it arrives early, then it's up to the recipient whether to wait patiently, or tear it open. Arbitrary due date for sending gifts is Dec 1st. Wait any longer and the end of your brush will fall off.

Bump. It's now one week left until the first, which TASmith says is the usual date to start sending out gifts. Best get moving people.

And one other thing. I've gotten a couple of PM's from people who are participating in this, they're on the list, I sent them all their information, and then they ask me if they're still in....

The answer is yes! If you're on the list at the beginning of this thread, then you're obligated to contribute something. The time for second thoughts is in October, before I make the assignments.

    Hope I don't sound like a Grinch.

I cannot participate because I do not have the resources to buy gift for anyone, but I do wonder what sort of gifts people would ask for Secret Santa, see how eccentric they are.

If I participated I would've asked for a large box of baking soda to be sent to my door.

Nobody's buying gifts, we're making gifts. It's more the sentiment of giving to someone you've probably have never met and pouring hours of labor and love into it with the knowledge that it's purpose is to make someone else happy.

And vice versa, knowing that you have something with a lot of purpose and love put into it by another artist like you. I reckon that's at least 20% cooler than a large box of Baking soda.

It's probably how Christmas Gift giving was supposed to work in the first place. not 20% off at Wal-mart, K mart, A Mart or Meyer being blared all over the television between November and February. So sick of it.

Totally, because of this for the first time in years I felt really warm and fluffy sending the present I made off to make a stranger smile. I've gotten so disillusioned (or however you spell it) with the whole thing. Plus the present I got was so thoughtful and cool that it's the only thing I remember getting now

Beeston, that IS cooler. I was wondering what exactly we as artists were supposed to send to each other. Artwork? Craft? Stuff?
I hope I get to see some things that the artists send each other, I am curious.

Check out last year's thread. Gifts started arriving from this page onwards.

Still working on mine, which is why my SB is strangely quiet. Last posting date for me is a little later, I'm just hoping it dries in time.

My gifts are sent! Two days late, so I added some extras.
