Just got off the phone with admissions. They are finalizing their decisions right now @_@

They also said that the mailing for letters usually go out on March 1st, but it's looking like they'll be sending them out earlier this year.

Oh, thank goodness! I think my head may explode if I have to wait much longer. Did it sound like they were sending them out today? I live on the opposite side of the world (Oregon), so I'm betting it'll take a bit longer to get here. Sorry -- just curious if they provided any clues. The suspense is KILLING me.

I've heard of people phoning in to ask the head of the department if they got in. I am seriously considering this...

CatRBailey - Based on what they told me, it sounds like they'll mail them tomorrow. I have friends who have gotten their CA acceptance letters about March 5th, so that's when I'd check my mailbox. Heh heh, our luck that it had to be a leap year day tomorrow too, so that's one more day of February to sit through

bodied - Ya I'm phoning them again before their office closes today and/or tomorrow. I think it's a bit silly that we have to wait to hear about something as big as our college admissions via post mail, especially in this day and age. Just ask them nicely

Wow, April! I received a letter just after applying and I'm pretty sure it said early March. Most often I've heard the first week...but it would be sure nice to know sooner.

It's worth the wait for the snail mail

I'm already in for GAD (got accepted in early january) but I'm excited to see who got in so I can start trying to find a room mate and/or at least make some friends in advance

I think it came about week after I applied, just letting me know they received everything, as well as the name of my "admissions counselor." I applied right on the deadline, so it may have been something they sent out only to those at the very end. I'm a procrastinator at heart.

I think you guys should receive an email from FedEx. I received one saying that it's sending the acceptance package to my hometown and it's somewhere in Memphis now.

Until I receive the package personally, I'm not sure if I'm accepted into CA yet.

She told me that everything is sent out via snail mail so we'd all know at once. Just check your mail boxes next week.

Well, since you are an international student, there's probably some kind of procedure that requires Fedex to notify you of incoming packages. That would be my guess. Ringling apparently takes great joy in prolonging the misery of uncertainty for domestic applicants.

I have to admit, I had a miniature panic attack at first though.

One possible explanation is that my email could have been mixed up in the Ringling mailing list. I saw the tracking update was emailed to [email protected] but somehow I received it as well. :/

I think Ringling is fair to everyone. It just happened that I got this email and I was wondering whether any of you have received it. Anyway, I will email the admission office about this and clarify with them. Hope this alleviates your worries!

Honestly, my realism included in my portfolio was, in my honest opinion, VERY weak. I'm hoping Ringling sees potential for me to improve upon it and accepts me regardless, haha.
