oooh i dont like posting wips :/
The story goes something like.. a far away village is desperate for food and supplies, some brave men have to cross the marsh lands to get to them. They have to be careful tho, cause there are thiefs eager to steal the goods...

Hopefully i will get this mess together until sunday.
Feel free to crit me on composition, but not details as im not there yet

Sry for not posting any comments on everyones pics, have to sleep....

That was a hell of an advice! It literally transformed the whole image! Cheers to you man!

Really like all the stuff I'm seeing here- congrats to all on some great work!

Here's where I'm at- I might tweak it a bit, and I'm up for any crits you have to offer, but for today I'm calling it finished

Ok, at long last here are some critiques, reactions and suggestions on some of the incredible work you're all offering up.

Saleem: Oh that's good! I love the mystery of that giant figure.

    Bergy68:
Coming along nicely- I really like the story! I'd suggest pushing some of your values darker, at least in the foreground.

Misplaced Hippos: Fantastic! Looks like an illustration from a book I'd like to read.

C-rallis: Really awesome work! I like the viewing angle you went with, and your lighting and detail are incredible! I think having your damsel's attention turned away from the action is pulling some intensity out though- I think if she were reacting to the battle it would punch it up even more.

    tobzArt:
Can't wait to see this one finished- I really like the form your creatures are starting to take.

Sorry those of you I missed, but I keep falling asleep at the keyboard...must sleep...

    Hope you got some sleep!
That was a well targeted comment, so I changed her head angle and a more expressive look on her face.
    Cheers!

That looks beautiful Dreolin, I would not turn back if I were you even given extra time. Can't wait to see it with colour.

also wrote this little story, but since I'm unable to finish it, I might as well post it here...

"They have warned me not to travel through the marshes. "It is a wretched place," they say "None who enter ever return." As I make my way through the cursed swamplands, I come across many lit torches, their orange fire pierces the dense fog like a sword pireces a beast. In the water, floats dishes with candle light. Set into the bog by the villagers in memory of those who had the courage to brave the marshes, those who did not return. There is an eerie silence, too quiet for such a place. I feel a strange presence, I draw my sword, readying myself for whoever...whatever faces me. Then, out of the fog an apparition presents itself...it becons me..."
