    My Sketchbook

Heya. New here. Edited: Okay! Not really new anymore, but new in the essence in that I don't know my way around the site well
18 years old and a Veterinary Science student! Art is my hobby, it was a difficult choice between art and the art of science...

EDIT: Decided to put on temp. folder thumbnail.

I have some art. Its stuff I've already done within the last month or so. It will be the only art I post from previous work, because the way I see it is that I'm here to improve... not share my old art. :]

Okay, as of to date I've been more on an animal-only drawer. Well, I've decided its time I attempted to tackle humans a bit more...
Have some sketches I did last night. :3 (and bear with me haha). The first upload was just scribbles and me referencing from my hand. Ignore the red... that was an experiment haha. The second is more me trying to get a 'feel' of drawing the basic flow of humans without getting bogged down with anatomical details, so excuse that. :]

Hey, mate! Glad to see you've started your sketchbook.
I didn't know you were 16, mate. Genuinly thought you were older (hope you take that as a compliment xD)

Anyways, you say humans aren't your usual subject matter so I thought I'd chuck you some links about how to draw faces.
    http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2009/05/draw-eyes/
    http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2...ead-any-angle/
    http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2009/07/draw-lips/

It'd be good to do plenty of studies from life and photos in between your usual drawings, of faces AND full figures. I'm sure you do this already for the most part but you can never have too much.

Anyways, hope to see more soon. I'll be sure to check by often. Good luck!
    Take a look? - Sketchbook -

Also, why not check these guys too?

Whelp, this is what happens when the internet is down. Baha.
If anyone bothers to read this, I'm new here. Are we supposed to 'attach' the 'art' or can we just link it though the whole [ I M G ] [ / I M G ] thing?
    Thanks.

Think attaching the art is the prefered option as that way it stays on the site even if you decide to delete it from the hosting site.

Oh and welcome, looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

    Update

    Tad: Haha.

Just another update with a few more art pieces I've done since I last post. I really need to post more... and create art more. >.<
    1. Quick sketch scribble.
    2. A picture I started, then my tablet broke. Trying to get the hang of painting fur.
    3. A drawing of a horse... for a friend. Yep, there are loads of anatomical mistakes. >.<

A few more things. Nothing serious, decided to draw a character per day from my all time ultimate favourite video game series: Legend of Zelda. (:
1st pic: Talon, from OoT. (just a scribble)
2nd pic: A quick pic for a friend, modelled in 3D Daz Studio and painted roughly over in photoshop.
3rd pic: A possible full pic of an armoured polar bear. WIP stage.

I dunno why, but concept arts 'Manage Attachments' area wasn't working for me, came up with a red error exclamation whenever I tried to upload this.
Just another landscape scribble/practise. Tried to get more colours into it, and use the lasso tool heaps.
As usual, tips, crits, advice... anything would be greatly appreciated.

I desaturated it after to look at the contrast and I think it looks nicer in B/W haha.

Well the best way to get better at landscapes is to actually go out and study landscapes. All the fantasy and crazy stuff comes a bit after the boring old grass and buildings. This however is difficult with digital unless you have a laptop of course.

JFierce: Thanks, I guess I should start going off photographs more! Good idea, yeah I don't have a laptop so sketching landscapes and referencing photos I will work on.

Heres a WIP of something I'm working on, so many lovely pencils now to figure out how to use them.
I plan on doing a watercolour BG for it.

More random art from over the past few months, the saws were spray painted.
I have more to upload, but its the wrong file size and I can't be bothered changing that right now, not a lot of people check this anyway.
