Deeply envious of others sketchbooks, thought I'd join the fun. I've a bad habit of only briefly visiting my sketches. Perhaps interest in some of these concepts might force to me flesh them out more. So here goes:

I like these sketches a lot.
my faovrite is
"Imaginary Chan"
I am going to watch your devart account![]()
Thanks Drew. I was missin' the love in this thread. I guess few comments is as much a blessing as it is a curse.
It means you don't suck enough to elicit pure hatred, but you still aren't good enough for the fan-boy posts.
So I shall trudge on with:
"Ode to Don"

badass
and I love the way you jump between styles
you need to do more "finished" pieces... and play with color. Great stuff anyhow.
like the orcs man, keep it coming
Ferg, thanks for commenting. Yeah I am schizophrenic when it comes to style. I see something I like in someone else’s work and involuntarily I'm influenced by it. And for a week or so I go all chameleon stylistically... usually though the phase passes and I revert back into my own style (if I in fact have one).
Newbs, thanksBut which ones are "orcs" to you? Besides the dokebi I mean
And now for today's sketches...
"Chieftain"
"Chiyaki"

nice style!
Great sketches. You should pic one and start to expand on it. I really like the "demonic roughs". the shadows are really nice on that.

Hey man !!
This stuff looks cool !
I like the way you play with simple shapes on your characters which gives them a peculiar style. And that gog ubari portrait is nice ! You retranscribed her expression well =)

SSG #10: The Tenacious Ten
Nice style. I like the girl with the cigarette.
I see a lot of Asian influences in your subject matter and your name, are you perhaps doing Asian studies or of Asian descent yourself?
I think Divine Knights is your coolest btw.
That Chiyaki one... isn't she that psycho chick called "Yoyo"?
OK so forum rules are no B.S. posts... thus I will try to only post to this thread -when- I have sketches to show off. But I'll do my best to answer any posts that come imbetween...
First things first today's sketches:
"NalNalLee Twins"
"Baek Armor Redesign"
-I got a burst of inspiration on how to handle the armor of my strong man in my Musa project. I'll post the sketch here today, and an update to the painting sometime soon in the Musa thread itself.
"Retronaut"
"SaeYoung and SaeJin Cho"
OK... now to respond to your wonderful comments...
That really means a lot coming from you Peter. I've been lurking in your threads for months.Originally Posted by PeterLee
I have sort of done that in the Musa thread (see my sig line). It started as a series of doodles in my meeting notes, and grew into a full blown photoshop paint project. Thanks for the compliment.Originally Posted by darkchild
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I like your render of her a lot. Very good pencil work in that.Originally Posted by Recursive_End
thanks Bart. she told me she likes you too.Originally Posted by Bartovan

I'm glad you liked the night. That was for a video game concept that never went anywhere because the developer who commissioned me lost interest in doing the project. Making it the 4th time I've -almost- been published! ha!

Hello. Nice work here you have good control with ink and pencil. My favourite piece is "Divine Knights", it has a wonderful feel to it. I also like how some of your work is stylised and then others are more serious. Good work!!

Great stuff. I was really thinking about critique, but you´re obviously way out of my league. Curious what your stuff will look like when you reach page 6 or so, post some more.![]()
I thought I'd change it up and anser comments before the artwork today...
Nice idea... now I have a benchmark point to look forward to.Originally Posted by taxman

It's funny to me that so many have commented on Divine Knights and how much they like them considering the whole thing took maybe 20 minutes to throw together. In fact I used the exact same method to create "Dark Priest" below... and he only took 5 minutes.Originally Posted by simbob
Another vote for "Divine Knights", how funny. Sometimes I think maybe I should try and be more consistent stylisticly, then other times I say screw it I don't wanna be locked down.Originally Posted by prophet
And Now: SKETCH UPDATENESS
So my Mom gets me sketch journals every year for Christmas... this year she bought me a fancy looking one from one of those fru-fru granola home-made book type places. It looks great, but the paper has a weave to it that makes it fairly useless for pencil work.
So I've been sketching mostly in Ink with it... it's been fun, and I've found it to be a rather nice exercise for loosening up. I also unearthed my spritz bottle which I use for ink splatz and charged it up just for some variety.
These sketches are a lot less refined than I've shared with you previously for the reasons stated above, but I thought I'd get all vulnerable and share with you my "brain storming process" since everything in today's update is a brainstorm for other projects I'm working on. (More annotation on this with each individual entry).
"Dark Priest"
The story this guy goes with is really in its infancy more than any other story I'm working on. It's a extremely distant future setting in the vein of "Warhammer 40K"
"One Light Out Flyer"
The guy in my neighboring cube at work is a rock-star by night. He asked me to design the flyer for his next gig. He hasn't seen any of my development on it as of yet, but I've promised him a smarmy post-apocalyptic pirate girl with an eye-patch.
"Orc Bathers"
It's really coincidence that I was working on my Orc bathers at the same time the CHOW for this week was announced. They belong to my only fantasy themed epic (which I've been developing for over 10 years now). I should point out they are errantly called Orcs by human settlers in my story in the same way Columbus called the indigenous peoples of America Indians.
"Lady Yasmeem"
Lady Yasmeem is from the same epic described above.

wow, you really have some great sketches here! (guess we have the same influences, hehehe)
love the old-boy drawing!

Nice inks. Like the first one especially. All the splats make it dirty and dynamic in a way.
