DSG from yesterday - which also happened to be the day my domain expired without me realizing it. Working on getting it back, but thankfully I can still access files through the IP.

Autophobic.net is back online... it's good to be home.
Hey JProvost, Im really likin your stuff here, you have a clean style. The arm studies are very helpful. thanks![]()
They're referenced from George B. Bridgeman's "The Human Machine." In my opinion, Bridgeman wrote (drew) the best books on anatomy and drawing.
haha i have the bridgeman which has all his books smashed together. i think its because i havnet gone into the hand part, just the arm. im gettin there! yea bridgeman is great, though is descriptions arent very helpful, showing in mass helps a bunch. welp back to drawing![]()
In my humble opinion, there are three ultimate anatomy sutras...and they have different approach. BRIDGEMAN, LOOMIS, and VILPU. I am not going to say how r they diff 'cuz I am not qualify, but u will know when you look at them. Great Bridgeman study by the way.Originally posted by JProvost

I like Loomis' method of breaking down the body in to simple planar forms for painting. It really helps to establish values. I've never heard of Vilpu but I'll keep an eye open for his books.

Some research studies for both my weekly acrylic painting series and my proposed graphic novel. (two unsubstantial sketchbook pages squeezed together for your viewing 'pleasure')
awesome stuff, id like to see more. also, 10 points for you for the cursive reference![]()
dirty scans of hands and dying buildings.
I've started work at a signage/printing company, so I'm still getting used to the schedule of having no time. Hopefully, more regular updates will follow...

Development of style for proposed graphic novel. Fine ink lines with wet-in-wet ink washes. (Though I think I worked a little too wet here)
This is just sketchbook paper, so I got really irregular bleeding. Does anyone know a good (preferably cheap) kind of paper that works well with ink wash?
More of this variety of drawing to come.
second painting from the series
Number three, with all due respect to Mr. Nate van Dyke

Messy Bridgeman studies. The way I see it, it's like taking notes in class. You're never going to read them, so why make it legible? The important part is the process of running the information through your mind to your hand. Of course, process-oriented exercises can yield interesting results (such as a blind contour).
hey man great studies
you make bridgman look clean haha
bridgman studies are great for sure!
hey man, i really like what you're doing, very clean and i think you'll learn a lot this summer....
Your hand studies are great...
Keep it up......
