    Vaejoun Portfolio

www.niefali.com (I thought about changing to another web adress)

    And my blog:
    www.me-artbook.blogspot.com

    Hello everyone.

I have studied illustration and always tried to stay open to a lot of topics, but lately I feel that I should decide more on one direction.

Fantasy - if you dont have a big name (or company) , it doesnt bring in a lot of money.

Concept art - I think I would have to improve my Portfolio on that part.

Editorial, commercial, books: Pays good, but very different from what I was doing till now.

Maybe it helps if someone else takes a looko on my Portfolio and Blog and gives me some feedback.

well, its just my opinion ofc, but those 1st 3 images were definitely not your best work. I really liked the bornbig &mountainbig thing. also the monkey king was funny. I think you should definitely use the funny ones; some other had humor in there too but I didnt get some of it. maybe ask to check ppl get the humor in there. if not make it more explicit.
also, Im not sure what you're doing to get the jobs in but just having a portfolio isnt enough. you gotto get to know your employers. so figure out who you'd like to be hired by - and try and meet them.
    Warning, I draw babiez

Thanks, I removed some pieces and added a work, that I think is my best so far.

Yea, getting in touch with the big companies is the most difficult part for me.

    Vaejoun your work is fantastic.
I would take a real close look at your portfolio and remove anything that gives you a shadow of a doubt that it's not your best. I would also remove sketches and anything that looks unfinished. Then utilize social media and get your name out there facebook, twitter, linked in, everything. Networking is everything. Research the companies you want to work for and find the art directors on said social media and get your work seen!
There's also a great course on presenting your work that you can download from conceptart and also watch Feng Zhu's tutorials on YouTube. He gives a lot of insight into what companies are looking for.

Best of luck, you're more than half way there.
