The Ring

i posted this in the WIP section, but i thought i was wrong, so anyway,, i post it here





Ok, this is my matte painting called the ring
it basically, about earth in 2xxx, and its enveloped by a giant ring (i will add the giant ring in 3ds max between the mountain), and of course i want some sci-fi atmosphere in it

this is the basic terrain, tell me what u guys think

and in order to add some sci fi atmosphere, i want to create some kind of sci fi balcony/platform in the foreground but i doubt it will fit in
any suggestion? (keep in mind that i want the Ring to be the focus point)

well you need to correct the color on some of the mountains so they work together
There is a clear distinction between the mountains and it is easy to see they came from different places. also your background is a warm yeallow and it would create a reflect more off of some of the snow. add some paint to the image and it will definetly look better.

Agreed from above. Also, it be nice to see some sort of walkway or path giving the eye something to follow. I'm sure the ring will be the focal point, but as of now, its just kind of bland.
