Hello all

I enjoy drawing. Although I don't do it as often as I should (every day). Guidance/criticism is encouraged. Encouragement is encouraged. Hopefully this sketchbook will increase my ambition to draw.

I'm inclined to post a bunch of my stuff from last year but I don't think that is very progressive. Here are a few, though.








This is a cover/copy of a Frank Frazetta painting (Conan the Usurper, I believe). I'm trying to avoid heavily referencing other artist's works, though. Need to build on that genuine skill!

Thanks for checking my sketchbook out, BlazeF . I've been studying detail again, although I haven't got a ton of uploads to show for it. Here's one I did yesterday of my favorite character of all time:

Oh dear...I've been slacking in the art dept. of my life. I want to do more sketches from imagination and get out of heavily referencing/copying other pictures. So, more sketches are in order. Here's one I did last month:

more to come soon. Having some issues with my tablet responding weird. I bought it in 2008, hate to think it's already crapping out. If you'll notice, some lines are overly thick. This is due to the pressure not registering half of the time. Sort of frustrating. Trying to keep busy so I'll make that work anyway.

Thank you for the kind words, Kvetch. And I agree, I think Walter's pretty hot too. I patched up the above drawing a bit because I noticed some things I really didn't like. I'll probably notice more with this after I post it, but that's how it goes for me with anything (quick sketch or slaved over finished piece).

One thing I noticed when I was doing this one was that I wasn't sure where to put the guy's left hand. So I tucked it. I'll need to do more sketches with the hands in similar positions where the angle of the fingers isn't so straightforward because I got lazy there.
