This is just a 10 mins quick sketch from tonight. Took a trip to Greece and did some drawing there. Also started a portrait drawing course. I'll upload results from those soon. Thx for checking out my book.

These are drawings I did while I was in Greece. Tried to apply teachings from Jack Hamm. There's 2 copies in there too. One of a drawing by Christian Gossett and one of a Carne Griffiths drawing.
I'll try to update this thread daily from now on!
More stuff. Started from ref but finished with a little imagination thrown in. The arm sketch is a copy of a drawing by Nimit Malavia (awesome artist!).
So far so good with the daily update with promise. These 2 were done in portrait class tonight. Life drawing from the model. Assignment was to draw the light instead of the shadows. turned out to be harder than I thought, lol. White Conté on black Canson paper.

Sounds like a great course if those are some of your first assignments! Nice job on the soft vs hard edges especially in the left portrait. Seems like the good type of smudging? In the left portrait, I think you lose out on a bit of depth and definition because the lower lip, bridge of the nose, and brow catch some very heavy highlights (unless thats photograph distortion). Those highlights imply that those surfaces are flat, face the same way and catch the same light source head on.
You mostly seem to be doing studies currently, so it's nice to see some digital sketches and speedpaints on page #6. More of those please! I personally feel its worthwhile to alternate between the studies and working from imagination.
I like the varied tree and wood studies, followed up by actual environments from the Greece trip. The last batches of pencil sketches contains some interesting stuff too. Like the compositions. I never really got into that but it seems like a good exercise. Also, first portrait in #153 is pretty nice. Subtle stuff! Drawing a female portrait like that and pulling it off makes you realize how tiny differences in linework can have such a big impact.
Lastly- we should go figure drawing someday again. Not sure if the other trip in the NL sketchmeet thing will work out. I'll make sure to keep you posted on any trips organised on Facebook though. Not sure how you are on time though, getting the feeling you've got a busy schedule now.
Looking forward to your new work!

It''s been a while. Didn't draw much these last few months.
Hi, your lines have personality. I like the drawings. Keep posting.
Thx Cojac!
This was vaguely based on a photo, 90% from imagination though.
Fucking around with a creature concept. 20 mins.
From a life model. Took around 2 hours.
