Thanks, Cloudcan. I have deep respect for your artwork.

I've been working on my webcomic "Opey the Warhead" and hope to have an all-new page up here within a week. It's a labor of love for me. If you haven't checked it out, it can be read here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=130842

    Below is a sample page.

Thank you so much! I do have a fondness for drawing women, although I'm going to try to include a wider range of material for my sketchbook, soon.

I'm vaguely aware of suicide girls but it's not an influence on my work, in particular.

Thanks, Plissken. It's hard to tell here on the site whether people are looking at your work or ignoring you completely. The level of talent on CA is staggering and you often wonder whether your level is so much lower that people won't even give you the time of day. Still, I keep going because I love drawing and, with the comics, telling stories.

I appreciate your comment. It really made my day.

    Here's a few more sketches:

Thanks and I'm glad you're starting your own comic. There's something exhilirating about creating your own world and watching it grow. It takes dedication. I've seen quite a number of comics online that start and trail off. People lose interest or get stuck as to where they should go next. It's usually best to have some blueprint for the first issue, if not the first story arc. I found scripting out the story helps substantially.

Anyway, I hope you'll send me your comic my way, if you post any of it online.

Great work as always! sorry that it took me so long to get around here, I've been rather neglecting ca.org the past week >_< I am wondering if you are thinking of doing any other media? some of these would look really good in full color/rendering.

Everything about the mountain climber is determined, but notice how the shoulder sticks out at a strange angle. I enjoy the way you shade your drawings, how fast do you actually achieve such a good grade of shading?

    Hi Cloudcan,
Thanks. It's no problem. Looking at your sketchbook, it's quite certain you haven't been neglecting your artwork.

I have been considering working in more color but it seems a bit daunting for me. I've always enjoyed the simple charm of black and white hatchwork but, as an artist, it's important to experiment and branch out in new areas, to test your own limits and try to go above them. That, and working in color, can expand your economic viability, too.

Thanks for the critique and the comment.

The shading part doesn't, typically, take up that much time. Laying out the drawing is the most time intensive portion of the drawing process.

Here's another sketch I did recently. I don't want all of my drawings to look like porn stars.

Thanks! I'm working to add a bit more variety to my sketchbook. I'm going to try some color out soon and more variety with regards to subjects. Still, I suspect more women will be appearing here in the near future.

I'm honored. Thanks, man. I should have a new Opey page up this weekend. I love drawing the little guy, as much as I love drawing female folk.

Hey I am really feeling your kinda erotic/punk style, i think when you're feeling comfortable you make some really engaging images.

the comic type pictures are also great

if you are interested in more realism I'd think about how you shade the forms, as these stand they have alot of white left on the page and its hard to get a sense of the volumes and weight of objects with just outlines
