    thank you takashmen for coment.

I watch your pieces and i have to say that there are grate stufs. i like de environments. It's nice.
I hope my advice for watercolor could help you!

The procces of water color is little bit dificult for me to explain because of my poor english but I'll try for you.

The paper: at first you have to sumerge the paper into water for 10 to 20 minutes.
After that take a frame (canvas?) and paste the paper in it with white glue. The paper should be still wet.
Then you have to straighten out the paper to fich it as much tense as you can.

The painting procces: There are some good ways to paint. The first skill you have to learn is to paint a non degradate surface. It's posibble only if you do it little by little. You should draw a horizontal line with water color.(wet line) after that extend this line to botton more or less 1 cm. after that take painting again with the brush and repeate the process. The procces for degradation is the same but in this time you have to add water in your color little by little. (or adding an other color to make a mix).

WOW I hope it helps you. It's little bit mess

    Have fun!!

Nice sketchbook so far. I like the digital environments. You have a good choice of colour in them.
Just keep an eye on the readability of your images. I'm not always sure what I see in the pictures. Sometimes the brushstrokes and lines are cool, but to messy to really show what's in there
And I believe I see an spelling mistake in the name of this thread You may want to make it right..

Maybe you can try to do some thumbnails where you focus on limiting the amount and arrangement of your values (so b&w would be best). Also, try to make the brusmarks less choppy and more organised. You've got the flame, i can tell that much!

    but thumbnails of film frames?
i always deliberated thumbs as beginning of painting from imagination
and i totally agree about my messy style i will fight with that

so here is the beginning of the struggle

to both of them i used one brush and try to paint fast, effects aren't visible...

Your colors are amazing! So vibrant!

The only problem I have with your work is that it's messy. Don't get me wrong I LOVE messy art, but with what you're doing now I'm struggling to piece together what you're drawing. The images don't really look like they are pulling together. I'm sorry to say that I don't have any suggestions on how to get them to be more cohesive, but I'm excited to see what you do in the future!

Finally i decided to show my regular sb. I took me so long because seeing all the drawing in others SBs i feel ashamed scribbles i did.

form the beginning till now i've made only quick drawing of idea i had (enviros) on the assumption that after i improve in painting some day i will use them

and because of that they were just scribbles. I also note some topics, which i'll be able to use.

but tired of dp i went back to pencil and put more afford into drawing and finishing my ideas

so here is the start of something i tend to call a drawing.

Don't jump on the "shamed to post because everyone looks awesome" bandwagon, it doesn't help you, ever.

Your environment sketches and studies are looking good. You made a big improvement when you stopped using as many custom brushes and started painting with basic hard and soft brushes again, your work showed it. I suggest you do more studies to see how far you can stretch your rendering skills with the basic brushes, then, when you think you've reached that point where it becomes difficult, keep painting.

Draw and paint from life constantly. Fuck the subject matter, draw it all.

A good friend encouraged me to try not to mindlessly paint, that every stroke should be measured, not random. You should think about why that stroke it going down, what purpose will it serve? Will it turn the form? Add depth to the image? Will these marks indicate detail here? What happens to this form if I change the colours like this?

That said, don't get lost and start panicking because you think that you're over analyzing yourself. In the end, it SHOULD be hard. But it's also fun.

I've been finding more and more that drawing is like anything else you want to learn, you've got to study, study, study some more, then keep studying until the word loses all meaning and you're a dribbling wreck.

Saturate yourself with artwork. Marinate in it.

    MARINATE IN IT

For custom brushes... I usually 'prep' the canvas with them, and paint over them with a basic brush, and then add texture at the end. Just the way I do it (and nobody complain, so far so good xD) I don't know if that's a good way, but maybe it'll give you somewhere to start while you find other methods and/or experiment xD

I'm loving the doodles, some of them have a lot of potential (I especially like the tree growing amidst ruins) Maybe try some 'clean' doodles though - I myself sketch *very* messily but then someone told me to try being neat with only the barest necessary lines to convey my thought, and it was a very useful exercise.

    Keep the great stuff coming!

yep, feelin it. all i would say is tighten up the level of detail round key features of the image. thats what craig mullins does, and it seems to trick the eye (i guess we only see a part of our sensorium in hi res and the rest is sketched in shapes... foveas and visual cortexes amd rods and cones and shit) so for example in Post 38, top image, tighten up the guys face as thats what the audeince's eyes will track to straight off, while keepin the forest nicely suggestive, and youre onto a winner!
    love this too btw

Your paintings show a definite improvement. The only thing I can say is that your non enviro. stuff seems to be lacking. very lacking. Someone said that guessing the lines won't produce the form of that deer you drew simply because you don't generally know the form of a deer. Even using a reference won't help. You have to study the form of the animal. So, that's where anatomical studies come in.

I really like your colour in your images, especially the first page, EOW etc..
One thing i really would like to see is some cleaner lines. Your good at environment, would like to see some human anatomy studies and such.

Colour and environment are definitely your strong points.

What I meant by 'non enviro stuff' is that when it comes to something else besides an environment painting, your drawings seem to be lacking in study. Drawing scribbles is nice and it lets you experiment, but the downside is that if you haven't studied the object you're trying to draw, you won't be able to draw it: regardless of how hard you try.

So I suggested that you try some other studies besides painting.
