    @Lightship, Thanks a lot man

    @Benjamin, thanks, portraits one of my weak points at the moment (digitally at least)
    i'm loving the course myself, but it really depends on what course you're applying for, it seems like you would be more swayed towards illustration and i can only really comment on fine art in terms of fine art like most courses it's pretty independent and unstructured so there wont be much in terms of the technical side of drawing etc. but it's good for other stuff. can't say much about other courses other than it's an awesome place to be!

    time for an update i suppose!

    few studys i've done for the crimson daggers bloodsports, i'm going to be redesigning a cover for 'my neighbour totoro'
    also, quick landscape testing out some new brushes
    and finally a quick 20 minute paint to practice skin tones, no reference used

    Have decided to build a portfolio as a goal for this year so i am
    reworking a couple of older pieces to start it off, they are still fairly rough but any comments on the compositions are appreciated.
    Waiting for my orange to go mouldy too so i can do another study from it
    Also working on a fairly large traditional piece on my fine art course, photos coming soon!

    made a start on bloodsports 7 for crimson daggers; redesigning the zelda game 'the wind waker'. excited about this one although i've never played the game :p
    looking to stylize it towards some contemporary traditional painters i love, particularly revolving around colour and brushwork.

    also a comp sketch

    Wow amazing paintings you have there. The way you paint skin and environments it is inspiring. I really don't have much to critique here.

    so here is mine;

    unfortunately i lost my sketchbook in the louvre so i can't update with anything i did in paris! lost all of my life drawings too which sucks, but hey, it was still hugely inspirational
    my orange has finally gone mouldy so im going to paint it again

    oops havent been updating in a while, so here goes!

    first up are some photos i took in the louvre, unfortunately i only had my fisheye lens on me but HEY
    these are all paintings by Rubens in the Marie de' Medici cycle, it's a series of paintings which were commissioned by the french royal family,
    they were seriously the best paintings i've ever seen haha, the photos don't do them justice

    also a photo i took in the paris catacombs, didn't get as many as i hoped down there because it was so dark, and they did not allow flash

    next up an oil version of one of my previous pieces, not really finished but i doubt ill do much more to it, i need to get better photos of my work :p

    finally a couple of quick environment speeds, not sure if ill take em any further

    There's clear mood and sensible colour choices but I think you need to consider what is holding these rocks up. Granted there's a little room for exaggeration and fantasy, but some of these spikes and bridges are so thin they would just collapse.

    Hi matey

    Thanks for the SB visit that was very kind! I must say first of all that I am slightly jealous of your visit to the Louvre, well more than slightly jealous if I'm honest lol, that must have bee quite an experience mate did you discover any new favourites while you were there.

    That photograph with the skulls is absoloutely brilliant as well, I am going to point a few people here to look at that.

    well done, and keep up the good work mate, just post a bit more frequently pls I need the inspiration.
    All the best to you.
