Excellent work on all the self portraits! Love all the experimentations.
Nice underwater palette on the last painting. I think the downfall is that the guy's pose is upright, like he's just standing, whereas he should probably be more 'floaty'.
Very interesting stuff in here. I like.
I love the expression on that guy's face while the shark is giving him "The look"
just awesome
HK; thanks man, and dead on the money as usual! i should´ve sketched out the pose or something beforehand. the water scene came after the figure, and it shows.
Colour Coded: thank you! glad you like.
asa, thanks dude! good to hear!
two self portraits again! getting mighty tired of my face.
wanted to draw a scene from mind and practice on my anatomy and so something more illustration´esque, so it´s me finding something in the woods, to be continued i guess!
aaand i was born in -87, so selfportrait number 87 is a fetus with glasses.

Dykaren är riktigt fet Lars, gillar att du har en utpräglad egen stil på dina mer konceptuella bilder, stor like på självporträtten också!![]()

New personal piece. No reference used. Let´s me know what to work on.
I need to learn how to render stuff, and do more environment studies.
Please hit me with some critique and comments.
Continuation of the self portrait comic. So much more fun than painting my face!
Trying to learn to use distortion and different "camera angles" and such. Crits please!

Been watching The Walking Dead lately, and zombies have invaded my sub-conscious.
This is a drawing that will be painted. Will tighten up the lines somewhat also.
Input appreciated!

Wow, someone has been busy! I really like the fireplace/black and white image! It almost looks like it’s made in 3d. I like how you got the surface that clean and the lighting is very good. Those self portraits are fascinating. I especially like the sequence where you’re running through the jungle and then jumping. I think you’ve captured both the feeling and the movement in them. It doesn’t matter that the perspective isn’t accurate and that the lines are quite simple. It might be the simplicity in them that makes them so interesting. The style is very cool!
About the zombie image, my input will be about the girl falling down. It looks like she would fall quite fast and that would make the wind grab the skirt, hair and bags up. Everything that’s light and movable should follow the motion through the air.
I hope you understand my poor English, haha! Keep up the good work!![]()
Greenhouse, thanks man! I really appreciate the input!
The girl is more like hovering in the air though, juggling the zombies with magic, hahah. The hair and and skirt should probably sway around more though.
Will see if i can fix.
Color and perspective studies, and a char and enviro sketches

the blue face dood instantly stood out to me, wanna see that fleshed out!
You seem to have a very distinctive style in your original work like those comic pages. Very loose and sketchy. I like it.
How do you practice those environment's though? Just try to make the lighting good?
Do a lot of work and your work will be as good as your ambitions.

Good looking studies.
In the first one, make sure to define the ground plane before figuring out a shadow. The way it looks now, it appears to be a hole.
If you can use layers, define the ground first and then add a layer at about 35% opacity with black, and add shadows.
That's not a hard / fast rule; it's just one way of creating a convincing shadow.
Keep working man!

DStraX: Thanks for dropping by! Glad to hear man.
kevin: Sorry man, won´t be taken any further
LeaderOfZombies: Glad you think so! Thanks!
Eternal Apprentice: Not sure how you mean? Which ones? In the grayscale ones done from mind,
i was focusing on values. I guess to practice, the best way to learn is to do studies from life and from
photos/paintings, and then trying to incorporate what you learn from the studies into your own work.
p sage: Thanks man, you´re talking about the first color study i guess? Wheret the shadow from the mountain looks off?
Some new things!
Tried to push myself with this one, and actually do a finished character concept with color. Been a while.
I really need to step my game up. I wanna go pro!
Critiqe and comments appreciated!
A bit more on my blog at: http://www.larsotterclou.blogspot.com/
getting alot more action in those poses than before that so good to see, also do more finished stuff like that last one! i know its the most excrutiating pain in the ass ever known to man but we have to push ourselves its the only way to improve also im jealous of those landscapes and quick studies i dont know how to do those the right way hahaha keep going man i want more updates!![]()

Aah! Love this last post! The black and white studies are awesome! The robot concept caught my attention as well. The pose and the shading look very good.
I just noticed that you’re working a lot with body poses from different angles and that you’re pushing your skills in this matter. It’s inspiring, thanks!![]()
LionheartGFX, yeah man! Gotta keep pushinThank you!
Greenhouse, tackar dude! Yeah, i really enjoy drawing figures, hope it shows!
Tried out a, for me, new process. Used a screenshot pic to paint on top of.
Fun to do, but a bland enviro concept, and pretty boring shapes. I have to do more studies!
