    George Birch Illustration.

    Name: George Birch
    Age: 27
    Location: UK, England
    Online Ident: GEB
    Website url: www.gebgraphics.co.uk
    Artwork:
All completely original personal work except for three. Honda and Emirates and T-Rex which I would never try to profit from

    - I'm looking for help to push my name out into the public eye.
    - Learn ways in which to reach more people on the internet and in other areas.
    - Look for help in ways to promote my work.
    - I would like to sell my prints as limited edition copy's from my website is this viable? Worth the effort?
    - I need ideas for formats to put my work in that might be profitable.
    - I'm looking for advice on what else my drawing talents could get me carer wise if I wasn't successful with my personal artwork.
    - I'm look on advice to improve my website. Ways to make it more interesting and easier to use.
    - I'm looking for feedback.

    I would appreciate any assistance

This a Collection of two years work during evenings and weekends in between my job also of two years as Printer Operator. I print promotional item's for
www.wcma.co.uk in the UK. It's not my dream job no creative aspects to it as the artwork is sent to use and I operate two UV Flat bed printers
matching pantone color's and design work as I print. It's a secure job though so I can't complain although it can be stressful at times.

All of these illustration's are drawn with a Pilot DR Size One Tip pen and a pen brush with black ink for the larger filling in sections. The board's I draw on
are 2 x 3mm (6mm altogether) thick mount board's glued over night with PVC and cartridge paper spray mounted and also pressed over night.

These are large pictures so you can see the scale although they are not near the quality or the size of the original files that I have at home for re-print.

    PRIMATE

This is an original illustration. I wanted to capture the strength of this animal on paper. I drew it after watching a doc. on these amazing animals and I
was angry at the rate they are being hunted. They have more right to be on this plant than us human's. Make's me sick.

CAPTION "If we hunted gorilla's by hand I don't think it would happen so often"

I wont take full credit for this Illustration as the shape was taken from a Crash Mccreery drawing of a young T-Rex. The illustration amazed me in it's
form I just re-textured it to make it more striking to the eye and it was no small feet it took me weeks maybe 35-40 hours. I'm amazed by Crash's illustration's
especially some of his work on Jurrassic Park. Some stunning images in my making of book, so powerful he makes them look. I will never be as good as him
but he has inspired me to push my work as far as I can.

    APOCALYPSE

This is an original illustration. Why does war exist? Why do we have to fight? Why is war Profitable?

More of a comic book style it was inspired by all the craziness that we get plastered with on a daily basis be it TV,Radio,Newspaper. The mass paranoid effect
and whether that creates all the ingredients for we need for war.

CAPTION "Is War An Inevitable Part Of The Human Condition?"

    HAWK

This is an original illustration. It was inspired mostly as I love Falon's/Hawk's/Eagle's but with a bit of a twist. It's perched on a CCTV camera to try and express
the fact that we all worry about material thing's man made thing's affecting our lives to much. Mass global paranoia. We worry about our data being stolen,
identities lost, face book hi-jack's, development's in tech that monitor's our live's such as CCTV and surveillance equipment but we never think about big old mother
nature and our godly planet. Are we being monitored by forces unknown?

CAPTION "If Big Brother's Watching Us Then What About Mother Nature?"

This was inspired by the many honda adverts that I enjoyed on tv. I wanted to play on the power of dreams slogan by adding as much dream like pattern work
as possible into each of the letter's. I've tried to achieve flowing dream-like shapes with random geometric shapes and as many other forms that I could think of
to express what we experience during heavy REM sleep at night when natural dmt is released into the brain.

    THC

This is an original illustration. This is a typographic illustration for a small local publication on cannabis sativa and the benefit's of it's use medically for serious
illnesses such as cancer and ms. I've included the THC molecule within the Letter H and tried to bond the letters together in a chemical form with cannabis
buds blooming from the tips above the letters.

This was a Emirates competition entry. It was done after the THC illustration and I wanted to move from less organic flowing typography to more solid but
extremely detailed lettering. I really like some of the lines in the letter's on this but it didn't get far in the competition.

    BLACKBIRD

This is an original illustration. I wanted to draw a more detailed bird than the larger hawk illustration. So I drew a smaller picture with more detail inside it. I think
it's much more natural looking than the Hawk more organic but still with a mech/robotic look about it. I like the way this image turned out. It's also multi layerd
towards the viewer on the branch as I wanted to explore depth in my illustrations. I plan to do a HAWK 2 soon which have this much detail on a larger bird with
    multi layered patches within it.

    Multi-layer image.

    CALIFORNIA

This is an original illustration. This a present for my cousin who got married actually a few days ago, I haven't been over to see her since I was 15 and I want
to send the original to her for her present nicely framed and finished. I'm waiting for her reply as we speak. I tried to do the same as the THC illustration but
spend more time on each of the letter's and add more letter's so it all took ALOT longer but I'm very happy with the final results. It pay's well to add more time
and the whole image looks much more fluid.

    Thanks.

I like the graphic quality of your work, but you have a very taste specific style. I don't think I can help you much.

What is your purpose, to work for clients or do personal illustrations? If it's the former, I would explore other styles. If it's the latter, then coming to websites like this is a good start to get your name out there. Just be sure your style is not a cover for lack of drawing skills. I am not saying that it is, from what I see here it could be just the look you were going for.

I'd say it's pretty obvious that you have drawing skills and a good sense of design. I do think exploring other styles would benefit you, even if it's just to come back to this style. You'll be able to inject a little more flare into your look because right now I can see that this style might fall into a rut where everything starts to look the same.

Very cool stuff though. Very cool. Keep it cool. I would like to see this kind of work in the pages of some graphic novels...

I think some of your images would look great as t-shirt designs, especially Blackbird and California, which also happen to be my favorites here.

Awesome work. Love the graphic style and the designs and T-shirts is not a bad start. I agree with Shmaba about trying different styles, push yourself beyond your comfort zones. I think your designs would be great on skate boards and snow boards and such. If you can get some of your work licensed then you've got a foothold so that may be a direction to consider.

I love the hawk. All of these are great. But do other things too.
