A ton of sketches. Love the cityscape with the red cat. Actually I like most of them.

O scanner, where is thy mercy?
I have gone beyond patience for you.
So here be updates. As you understand I'm not fully happy with how my scanner scans them.
Sketches at work.
Coming out of Bridgman.
Building sketch.
Out of the window quick sketch.
A city sketch that I liked. Has monochromatic tendencies.
Midnight sketch.
half a frazetta study. I have to appreciate the way he lays down color.
wip - scanner, o scanner.
wip - kinda grey right now.

Hah... I like the story in the last one.. the guy staring at a football (or 'soccer') trophy... and thinking to himself about glory lost, or something. Maybe a little jealousy. Great expression.
The environment sketches are nicely done as well... it looks like they were fun.
It looks like you're pulling some good understanding out of Bridgman, Vlad. He's a tough cat to crack; but once you do, he can be your best friend and teacher.
Cool update![]()

Nice update, You're really improving dude! Your environmets are better and better, no crits this time![]()
p sage - Thanks Chad! If I had the patience to work more with Bridgman's book, probably would post better stuff. But yeah, whatever I got off him shows of. I think.
I finished that piece with the trophy guy in colorful crayons, might upload it. I just don't like it much. Hope you're well!
Black Spot - Thanks ! It's always good to hear that, it pushes me forward into a relentless drive.
Liberty - hey IviI'm good, hope you're as good as myself or even better. The pen sketches are really fun. Try out the really thin ones (0.4 mm).
hu-ha - Heya, many thanks![]()

Ok, this time I got a small commission going. Which is nice. A wedding invitation. The money's not great, but it might bring on ... more ... wedding invitation commissions. Anyway, it's nearly finished. Just gotta work on the saturation on the girl's face and add some minor details and polish things. Also, some other things that sprouted out of my mind.
Commission wip -
Some desert enviro -
An urban watermelon poncho wearing man who happens to be on acid -
p.s- I'm feeling more confident with photoshop than ever before. Speaking of line sketching and painting in with bold blobs of color.
Fun wedding invite; it made me smile and will make others too no doubt.
ahhh, great paintings. Most of them are very solid.
Seems you lost a bit of dimensionality in the wedding portraits though. I assumed it's because of the photo qualities.
I think it could help if you lighten up some of the lines on the girls' face, and refine both of their contours a bit. And the neck connection could be fixed for the guy; the neck shoots up into the back of the head you know >___< .
Keep up the good work. You have great improvement going on here.
Black Spot - Yeah, lots of happiness shining out of this drawing. It's good to be paid for a drawing
Aaron_ - Thanks, though I'm not sure how solid they are. There is progress, but in contrast to other paintings I've seen I'm pretty much a crippled pigeon.
Finished commission. Two other drawings (one is a half assed study, the other is a half assed imagination drawing)-

That's a huge nipple on the study. Neck's a bit long on the warrior girl and the shoulders look stiff. I don't think the neck matters on the wedding invite - still looks fun.
Black Spot - Thanks!Huge nipples are just great, aren't they?
Going back to regular updates, been shying away from CA. Also, will scan pencilery stuff.

Something fishy and extremely unfinished from today.
Good Night!

I upgraded from photoshop CS3 to CS5. I was reluctant and postponed the change, and shame, CS5 feels a lot better than CS3. Feels like it gives me more control over what I want to do, as opposed to CS3 which felt like a war against the random jittery movements of my brush. Anyway, there is a sure way.
lionheartGFX - Thanks ! I'm putting time into the anatomy section, it's marvelous how excruciatingly boring anatomy is but how rewarding it is when properly done.
p sage - Thanks C. I'm still expecting less than regular updates from you, yet, they're not coming.
MeteorCat - Good to you see againI'll visit your sketchbook for your recent stuff!
---
Anyway, it begins to feel like progress again. These feelings come and go. Usually no in between, no incremental progress kind of feeling. Nothing, nothing, nothing - progress. Circles back again. I find it interesting to watch, glad to have this sketchbook as a chronological reference. Hey-oh!
p.s- I hope the works I've been uploading aren't too big to fit in. I know you can scope out, but still... If it troubles a soul, let me know.

Hey,
Don't worry mate, you are progressing. Each and every line you make is a progress of some sort - just keep up with the studies and the sketches and you'd get there.
About the last paintings, i think you need to work a bit on your values and colors - it shows especially in your colored works - for instance the last pic
the colors are a bit too greyish and due to the close range of the values it is hard for the eye to find the focal/main point of the pic.
Keep up with the great work!
Cheers,
Fallen.
Open for commissions......just PM me.
Theres quite a lot of good stuff with the Smack image. I think if you refined the other images just as much they might turn out a bit better. Theres something off with the miners legs and head, take a look at his: http://www.immediateentourage.com/wp...n-in-Jeans.png. Hope it helps.
Thanks for visiting and keep drawing![]()

First time here, and it's been nice! Really like your paintings, they have a good life to them. The ogre/mask/devil man and the woman is really nice, but there's just a small visual tangent with her arm and his right-side-of-his-torso.
That's all I have to say, because everything is just that awesome.
Hey, don't shy away from CA. This is the place where you get honest critiques along with encouragement. I'd like to see you push a couple of pieces and see where you can go with it. Leaving everything as sketches can begin to seem easy.
CA is being weird. Was down for a while now and came back again and now my chrome browser says it contains malware...
Anyway
Fallenangel - Good to see you back mateHope England is treating you well! I see what you mean about the similarity of values, thanks, I'll do something about it (as slowly as I usually do it)
MeteorCat - Long time no see, hope you're doing wellI'm not sure about the pants part, tried to artificially lower the pants a bit to make them look baggy :p
Liberty - My man! It's 'than' but it doesn't matter, unless you're a grammar dictator. I'll try to stay active more often, just the thing was that CA was down when I wanted to post stuff! SHAME SHAME SHAME
Sushy - Knows her grammarThanks !
PeopleEveryday - 'alo! Thanks for the awesome words
Black Spot - I know what you mean, it does seem to be too easy when you do only quick stuff. I'll take things into longer studies and works. Hope you're well
Thank you awesome people for your comments!
OK, so I got one commission. A triple portrait kind of. In acrylics. Been a while since I've drawn with acrylics. I'll post results of the finished thing, it's a struggle
So some updates, most of them are WIPs (I think)-
![]()
Got a gig for some time now, need to learn how to use Autocad for it. Will work from home
Also, need to finish acrylic commission this weekend. Was a little lazy about it since there was an undefined deadline.
Some PS works:

Surprised alien camel looks surprised.
Rest is really interesting - push them.
Black Spot - Thanks
All right, a pile of mediocre updates!

Cool stuff. Nice experiment with color but my favorite is the pencil stuff. You have some really confident mark making with pencil that hasn't migrated to digital yet, prolly cause it's a newer medium. Nice work overall though.
I can really see the improvement! Keep it up mate![]()
